I think people were expecting this to be TNG part 2. It is not meant to be. Picard is way older in this then he was during the TNG days. He used to physically fight the borg and shit. He's an old man now, but his leadership and versatility are still strong.

Of COURSE he is a little "doddering" in this show. He has what looks to be Irumodic syndrome and is still a bad ass, focused and cunning 94 year old former admiral. He is like kirk in a way... can't keep a good captain out of the chair. This is not a re-hash of the next generation. This is not the federation (or alpha/beta quads) we remember from the good old days.

This show is good.

I think that last episode was the weakest one so far. Which hurts me to say because the introduction of more androids and Soongs character should have been more momentous.

I enjoyed this show very much, I wonder what they do next season, and if the fate of the Galaxy will be in the balance. And maybe Worf and Geordi make a cameo.

My only complaint is there is no mention of the flute or the flute theme playing, it's a big part of who Picard is. (Take one guess what my favorite TNG episode is)

That episode was fucking garbage. I do agree that the season finale of this show was kinda weak. Overall it was still pretty great. I've read a lot of complaints from trekkies about Picard, but they're all pretty dumb.

I thought it was pretty cool when Riker showed up leading the fleet and was essentially like "Please. Please give me a reason to engage in a space battle. I really wanna destroy your fleet."

^^ Hands down my favorite part of that episode.

I didn't care much for the deus ex machina ending (which was clearly hinted at by use of the "it can do anything you put your imagination to device," but I loved the series as a whole.

Not gonna lie... came close to crying a couple of times over the last couple of episodes, thinking about life and stuff.

Overall, I enjoyed Season 1 a ton!

I know Guinan is supposed to be in S2, but has anyone else been confirmed? Would love to see Geordi or Worf back. My knowledge of extended cannon is limited, so I don't know if they're still alive or not.

I read that Brent Spiner said he is done portraying Data in any form (assuming that extends to his brother on the planet at the end), but he's said that before. Regardless, after the send off that the character of Data got, it wouldn't really make sense to bring him back.

What's Whil Wheaton up to these days? Does Wesley have his own starship by now?

^i've never seen it written quite so eloquently, but yes... he was at the Riker/Troi wedding in dress uniform if I recall the extended scenes correctly.

^^actually the actor said he WOULD love to come back as the human character, but that playing data is done. (i'm actually surprised that he came back and played data for this series, because after Nemesis he said he would not play data again. I think he wanted to give data a better sendoff than the open ended "oh maybe b4 can become data" ending of that movie.
