I have no problem with a rebuilding year or if guys just can't cover or throw or block yet, but what boils my blood is how the guy catching these short passes is always wide open. How do you rush 3 on 3rd down and still leave a guy wide open?

I've always hated the cushion but i thought the whole point of that was not getting burned or being able to break on short passes. We do neither. It seems like the cushion just creates separation that our guy never makes up.

The D's played well enough to win for like 90% of the game but theyve still given up their trademark long TDs which has always been a strangely frequent achilles heel for a "bend dont break" scheme
