Flight originated in Santa Ana at KSNA and the girls school was in Thousand Oaks. That's a mother fucker of time spent on the 405. If you had to spend possibly 5 hours on the 405 a day or not, you'd choose not if you had the means.

Granted the conditions were bad enough he should have driven or hired a Hummer limo or whatever he was into car wise.

I definitely get why he had to use a helicopter in this situation. It could easily take 3 hours to get from Newport beach to Sierra Canyon. I assume Gigi took the chopper to school everyday. I always wondered why he got a house in newport beach to work in LA. Why not do like all the other celebrities and pick a place in Manhattan, the palisades Malibu, Brentwood or somewhere else inland. Did he want to live on the beach AND have a boat at his house or something? This is just curiosity and in no way should diminish the tragedy that these folks suffered.

Its also important to keep in mind that people die in cars quite often and they very easily could have died from a crash on the 405 (in the rare case they got to go over 20mph without traffic).
