-it is looking like this was highly coordinated, to the point of donors funding buses to carry these terrorists into DC

-It is looking like a high lev defense official purposefully dragged their feet when mobilizing the DC, VA, and MD national guard

-potentially, GOP were tweeting during the riot, hinting at where Pelosi was hiding

- of course the capitol police were involved. But seemingly, the FBI (who was aware of this plot) did very little to actually stop it.

I think the riot is partially due to the psychological effect of the pandemic. People lose control sometimes and they need emotional relief for staying in this situation for so long, just like the BLM riot.This is a pandemic of a century.

If the goal was a mass-casualty event on Congress, it failed. It was a mix of all kinds of people ranging from your run-of-the mill unemployed insane uncle and early-onset dementia grandmother to paramilitary-trained militia folks. Is the expectation that had they physically located certain members of the government, there would have been at least hostage-taking if not mob trials and executions? Hard to believe only 5 people died.

I think the law enforcement presence was also a mix of people doing their best against outsized numbers with some treasonous members mixed in (who may now be difficult to root out), along with some people that sized up the situation and decided they didn't want to be killed over this and just stepped back from the active conflict. The restraint cuts both ways. I certainly see the difference in response based on predominant racial make-up and ideology, but even the one QAnon idiot who got shot now becomes an executed martyr to "patriots".
