I will concur on the gravy...at KFC....that stuff has so much MSG and is good to the last drop you can drink it. Slaw at KFC is better, and I do like the wedges.



However, I think the best chicken is at Bojangles.

For tenders, I'm shocked not to see Smithfield Chicken and BBQ on the list. That Ken's honey mustard is delicious.

I mean they definitely used to have little containers that said KEN'S HONEY MUSTARD. I haven't gotten any sauces from there in a long time though, because like I said their tenders are disappointing.

I may have to reassess with a blind taste test. KFC tasted like chicken for poor people the last time I did this where as bojangles tasted crispy delicious and fancy (for take out chicken). I suppose years later I should re examine. Maybe I’ve had it all wrong. And that is despicable behavior. Racist! Give me a bucket of white and dark meat evenly distributed so I know I’m not being singled out. Oh and Smithfield’s has the best taste and the most explosive bowel movements for this chicken critic.

I was born in NC, so I feel a little vulnerable for saying this, but Bojangles isn't that great. The only times I've gotten a ton of satisfaction eating there when when I was drunk/broke/starving. Yeah, it's better than KFC, but if you want fast food, Popeyes has always had better fried chicken and a better menu, in general. Like Cookout (which I definitely prefer), a lot of Bojo's popularity is riding on local/regional nostalgia, the same way In-N-Out/White Castle/Whataburger do. Fast food is pretty much fast food, and it's mostly gotten worse, not better, over the years.

International KFC, like McDonald's, is a different ballgame, but let's not try and church BoJos up anymore than it already is-- Churches Chicken is a close analogue, so let that sink in. The one caveat I'll throw in is breakfast, but I don't eat that garbage anymore for fear of diabetus.

Fried chicken and especially fried chicken sandwiches are having an overexposed/drawn out moment, but it's actually fairly easy to make either/both at home with fresh oil/ingredients which taste way better anyway.

I was gifted a KFC new chicken sandwich today and I must say it was much better than i was expecting it to be. Big chicken breast, not over fried or dried out. A+ will eat again.

It's been a long time since I had bojangles but Popeyes fried chicken, while good, seems EXTRA greasy (not a compliment), fries and biscuits are a wash

After that bojangles just destroys, on variety alone. Something as simple as the cheddar bo might be the best thing either dose. Boberry. Cajun filet. Etc

Also Popeyes chicken tenders and filets have way too high breading to meat ratio, it's a lighter breading but still too much (and greasy).
