NC legislature required ECU to play either us or UNC yearly back in 1997. 2015 seems to be the first year since then they didn't play one of us, not sure what the legal status on it is nowadays though

Memes aside, Clemson is still going to be really good this year. Even if DJ U sucks, their defense is all world and Shipley is a good RB. FSU is bringing in a ton of transfers and should be improved. @UNC won’t be easy, Wake gives us fits (at least we have a few extra days to prep for that one). As long as UL has Cunningham they’ll be a tough out. BC should be solid with Jurkovec (he was hurt when we played them in 2021). We’ll probably be favored in 9 of the 12 games at least. A ton hinges on OL, but 10 wins is there for the taking. But a deflating 7-5 seems equally likely

I agree that ecu fans suck.

I’m cool with playing them once every 4 ish years. But I wouldn’t miss it if we never played them again. I guess the fact that they’ve been pretty bad recently makes me not worry about playing them as much.

I enjoy that 1) they are getting roasted in the replies and 2) Doeren doesn't feel the need to wear a ridiculous looking shoe marketed to kids to impress recruits like some middle aged/elderly coaches do.

Also, i would much rather play Duke more often than once every 7-8 years than play ECU ever.

I'm fine playing ecu if we are good enough and they are bad enough (which is maybe the case this year) otherwise it's a lose lose proposition. If we win who cares but we've also increased their shine, if we lose it's embarrassing and we're giving a leg up to a team that could be competing for recruits. Again, hopefully Doeren can get us consistently good enough that we aren't really competing with them but in that case I'd be happy enough to not give a shit who we play.

NC is a small state, 4 acc teams is hard enough recruiting without adding in app and ecu. Cold maybe (I hate ecu, win or lose, though) but it benefits us for app and ecu to be down

We aren't really recruiting against App and ECU though. Like i mean we are to an extent (mainly the guys filling out the back end of the roster), but the best talent in the state is by and large never going to either of those schools for the foreseeable future.

It does seem weird to only have 3 ACC home games. Feels like that should be a 4 home/4 away split every year.

Our crossover opponents were @miami and unc in 2021. So obviously we go to unc this year. But we also have to go to VT. Not sure how all that works, I guess the last time we played VT it was a home game? I guess that’s just the way the schedule breaks sometimes but it seems odd.
