Thanks for the Ben and Jerry's coupon and the heads up about the FL sale this week. I just got 2 pints of B&J FroYo Cherry Garcia and it cost me $0.12.

Man, I'm so sad I missed those B&J coupons. Siiigh.

Well! I did my first Harris Teeter triple coupon run today! Saved 61.xx and spent 45.xx.

I beat my savings record =)

I find it hard to stockpile because of lack of room, so I really only bought things I can fit in my shared apartment pantry. Today was the first day I really stockpiled a few things. If I was in my own house, I would definitely buy more - but I've only got one shelf in our closet-sized pantry (I kinda asked for another, and have received it, but still - only two shelves with no more room to expand). The fridge gets full fast too.

I got the cherry garcia too. The cashier even paid the 6 cent total for me because my change spilled out into the bottom of my purse.

I have found those little under the bed totes to be great for storing stock piled stuff like fruit snacks, razors, and other stuff. Maybe that will help with your storage issue.

oh my gosh, what a wonderful idea. we've got several of those totes, though they don't fit under the bed. but they fit easily into a corner of the spare bedroom, or even the garage. thanks for the idea! i keep bringing home more and more stuff, and it's all just piling up on the kitchen table. my hubby actually groans when i walk in with cvs bags now

noone made us coupon gods but the policy was clearly stated so he had no right to complain, it was his mistake, and

how was she cheating the system and pointing fingers, first off she didnt get mad at the clerk for not telling her she didnt get the right thing, instead she realized her mistake and decided to just return it, she didnt call the store and demand the cashier tell her next time shes buying the wrong thing, get her ecbs and a gift card too.

and yea maybe she got the full price back which i dont know how they happened but its not like she hid the fact she had the reciept to do the return so it clearly showed she had used coupons if the cashier didnt notice or they just messed up that's their fault not hers.

BOGO is actually two items for half price.

well i suppose that HT "messed up" by being out-of-line rude to a customer who spends $5K there per year. thus, i should get my full money back

i do appreciate all of you playing devils advocate in this thread though. it's proving to be quite entertaining

^^depends on the store and their policy. That's the case at HT

^

HT didn't mess up. A single clerk did, and I suspect she probably wasn't rude. She probably just didn't tell you what you wanted to hear.

well, I have yet to find a grocery store where one item is full price and the second is free. Just their way of getting people to buy more stuff than they need to. Just like at Kroger, you don't have to buy 10 items for 10 bucks.

There is no "cheating the system" here...Any place that accepts coupons can turn them into the colletion agency (such as Colgate-Palmolive or P&G) and get the face value of the coupon back...So Walgreens (I think thats where she was talking about) had probably already sent off their coupon batch to the Loreal company and gotten their $2 back. So she SHOULD be getting the full price back since Walgreens already got reimbursed on their half.

I know this, dipshit. But up until about a year ago it wasn't like that.

I was just trying to make a point that it's not the cashier's job to save you money. Nor is it the Customer Service Rep's job to placate you when you've screwed up and you want them to fix it. If the coupon policy is clearly posted (and it is always clearly posted during these types of sales) then it is your job to do the research and pay attention.

at harris teeter (at least in rocky mount and in raleigh when i lived there a couple years ago), buy one get one free means you pay full price and can get a 2nd for free. you don't get half off one. and if you don't pick up a second one then that's your fault.

if it says "buy 2 for 5.00" then you can get one for 2.50.

if it is BOGO free at Harris Teeter, each item WILL ring up half price...it even says so on the price tag on the shelf.

Let's say coffee creamer is BOGO free 2 for $5.00...Each will ring up $2.50

But you can only use 1 coupon per BOGO offer.

here this whole time i though BOGO meant Buy One Get One (Free)

i thought the 2/$5 or the 10/$10 was an entirely different thing. glad I read this thread

I don't think this is true. The Ken's salad dressing spritzers are BOGO this week, and I used 2 of the $0.55 coupons (which were tripled). Since each item rings at half price, I was able to use 2 of the coupons and the dressings ended up being free.

it does

the 10/$10 sale is not the same as a BOGO free sale.

You really aren't supposed to use two coupons for a BOGO free sale as per the HT coupon policy.

maybe they should update their coupon policy since technically you don't have to buy one to get one free - you can just buy one at half price.

they updated it not too long ago to take out the rule that IPs wouldn't double or triple. This is the first tripes where they doubled/tripled IPs...they also added the rule that you couldn't get overages anymore...this is the 2nd or 3rd triples w/ no overages.

I refuse to shop at Food Lion because most of the managers will not accept legit internet coupons. They are absolutely horrible and a waste of time to try to deal with. Thankfully the teeter is great to deal with so I do all my grocery shopping there.

I went through the self checkout and it accepted both coupons with no problems. I paid my 12 cents and thanked the cashier who was monitoring the area.

Feline Pine try me free rebate is now until the end of 2009.

This litter works better than clay, better for the environment, only a little more expensive, and you get a free bag.

When you get the bag home cut out the UPC and tape paper over the hole. That way you don't forget to send in the rebate after you finish the bag. I am a rebate ninja, never forget to send them in anymore.

Well if you want some receipts...I've got some extras, haha. I'm doing two of the coupon books and I just added up my totals last night and I think I still have an extra $30 or so. I bought 2 of the Crest Whitestrips on sale this week at CVS (cuz I had 2 $5 coupons to use) so they were $19.99 each before tax. I can mail the receipts to you or we can meet up somewhere.

I work in customer service at Harris Teeter. You did in fact used to have to buy both items on a BOGO sale to get the deal for it. However, about a year or a year and a half back, we changed the policy so now it all rings up half price.

Not sure who the person was in customer service whom you thought was rude, but during triple coupons, everyone in customer service is working their asses off and then getting yelled at all day long by customers who want to b**** about everything and expect you to hand them the world on a platter. But still... apologies if someone was rude to you.

My two cents
