non judicial offenses are heard by the commanding officer, and punishment is dispensed accordingly. serious offenses are referred to a court martial.

historically, sailors committing infractions were tied to the ship's mast and whipped, and (depending on the captain) possibly also left there for one or more days.

I hot racked as an E-4 and an E-5.

Probably varies a little from boat to boat, but an unqualified nub is pretty high on the list of those who hot rack, almost regardless of rank.

I'm in power school now, 1/3 of the way done. I'm 15th in the class overall (out of 345) and the 4th overall mechanic. Tied for honorman of my section. I put in like 5-6 hours a week, after I coach football.
