yeah...that ending was fairly shitty. I still am curious about next season even though the terrible acting is starting to get on my nerves. Maybe it is the accents. Not sure. 9/13/2009 10:20:53 PM |

well we semi-kinda got one...who took Bill? was it "I'll take care of Bill Compton personally" Eric Northman...or was it "I wish you didn't say that" scorned ex-vampire lover Lorena?
Honestly though...I'm so pissed about the proposal, that I'm more curious as to how the whole Jason killing Eggs and Tara's reaction ("sacrifice of the heart" much?) plot will play out in Season 3.
And I think the Queen was much better with Eric in this episode than she was in her introduction. 9/13/2009 10:24:55 PM |

oh...despite the Queen being better this episode...for there to just be a "that blows" about Eric losing Godric since ep9, well it BLOWS! To gloss over something so EPIC with a sweep under the rug is PISS POOR. There better be some beautiful dialogue between Sookie and Eric in Season 3, or at worst 4 if they ever make it there, with so much emotion and intimacy (not sexual, but intimate respect or friendship or just plain sympathy) that they make up for the "oh well, Godric's gone! let's move on!" that they've done with the past three episodes
i wasn't disappointed with this episode as a stand alone (minus the proposal), but for a season ender...the past three episodes just make me very angry. the first 9 were fine, great even (esp 8 and 9)...but these past three. bah...humbug! 9/13/2009 11:14:00 PM |

Why didn't they take Sam's heart out like the others?
I mean hell all they had to do was cut Sam a little to get her the blood she needed.
I liked how they didn't waste time resolving Maryanne, but the rest of the episode dragged and was a let down.
I'm glad Eggs is gone. What a whinny bitch. His last scene was strange though. I don't get the hostility towards Andy. Its like they threw that in there just so they could shoot him in the head.
I hope we don't see ANY more of the queen. She is annoying and lacks any entertaining qualities at all.
I hope season three picks up and keeps the level early season 2 had. 9/14/2009 8:03:03 AM |

I think they were about to take out Sam's heart when Sookie knocked over the meat statue as they called it.
I thing Eggs was being hostile to Andy just because he had gone sort of crazy.

Am I the only person who kinda likes the queen? I like how she's sort of apathetic toward everything going on with the humans, I also liked the fact that it's her having Eric sell the blood. She also seems to know much more about Sookie than everyone else. I think her character has some potential. And she kinda seems slutty, i like that too. If she ever does get very serious, the contrast to her current demeanor will make for good effect. Sort of like when she got serious with Eric, but hopefully on a larger scale.
Looking forward to learn about Sam's parents. Hopefully it's not as boring of a side-plot as Maryanne. Glad they got rid of Eggs too. I just wish they went about it differently so it wouldn't carry over. It doesn't make sense for Andy to have shot him in the back of the head if Eggs was attacking him. It's going to annoy me if they just let that slide. On the other hand, it will annoy me more it that shit takes up any story in the next season.
oh... and the scene in the bar after Maryanne's death was ridiculous. Yeah, everyone is down at Merlotte's after coming to and not remembering anything for several days, missing fingers, etc. That makes sense.

No, I like the Queen too...I even liked her when she was interacting with Bill, and most hated her. I thought she would be, and I felt that she was, better when we saw her in this ep w/ Eric. I just don't like "that blows" being the only mention of Eric's loss of Godric since episode 9. So I'm hoping that they are saving that for some Eric/Godric v. Sookie/Gran bonding heart to heart moment in Season 3.
Oh and Jessica becoming a truck stop feeder is pretty awesome. She's all kinds of fucked up with daddy issues and a broken heart.
btw...for non-bookies, the woman at the bar that said to sam, "i never thought something like that would happen in a place like this" or something along those lines was the author of the novels, Charlaine Harris.

that scene was extremely convenient/gay. They went from one to the next and had them give their little bullshit remarks. It was a shitty scene imo, the acting was bad, and most of the lines were horrible. What did that scene really add to the story? oh, everything is back to normal now. Fuck that. If i lose a finger and have no recollection of it, I'm not headed to the local bar/eatery. If everyone in the town has no memory of the past few days, i'm looking for an explanation. Shit is not back to normal. Shit is fucked up and I have no reason to think it's not going to happen again because I don't remember what caused it or how it ended. What about the fact that the town and houses were screwed up? Everyone thinks they were just living their regular lives (skinny dipping in the lake) and just don't remember it? that doesn't explain the town being vandalized.
It would be much more believable to me if the town was in a state of paranoia and rallying to find answers. It's lazy writing. 9/14/2009 5:04:14 PM |

Pretty weak second half of the season. This episode was horrible. Why wouldn't Tera be out looking for Eggs when she was so willing to die for him an episode ago? Instead she was just chumming it up with everyone else in the bar. Why did Lafayette not want to know what happened to him? He was only out for the wedding. Also, I'm glad they finished up the Maryanne crap, but a horn to the chest ends it? Did they even need to stop the ritual? Was the old god real? Who's fucking blood were they licking all over the egg? Did the queen not think that Sookie's cousin might warn her that Bill was going to be a target? And the acting... 9/15/2009 9:06:01 AM |

If you remember what the Queen told Bill, Maryanne had to believe that Dionysus had manifested in order for her to "allow" herself to become vulnerable. Hence the complex plan and "surprise cockbag!" moment from Sam.9/15/2009 9:23:25 AM |

^^^I thought they convinced her that her god had come to devour her so she wasn't convinced she was immortal any more. Which gave Sam the chance to kill her? And no, at least from what they showed, dionisus (sp?) was not real; or at least he didnt come.
Her cousin seems to be the type that values her own survival over helping a family member she has no contact with anymore.
I assumed Tara was at work. She can't spend 24/7 with Eggs no matter how concerned she was.
I didn't have story issues with the finale, it was a microcosm of the season. Started strong, peaked, and drug towards the end.

What have you seen in this show that would lead you to believe there would ever be beautiful dialogue between characters? I'll be disappointed if they let this show run for more than three seasons after canceling Deadwood, a show with fantastic dialogue, after 3. It's all about the money though so who knows. I wouldn't be surprised if they lost some viewers with this season though.9/15/2009 9:46:51 AM |

It wasn't as bad as I expected to be, but Maryanne being fooled by Sam's shapeshifting was a little silly. I guess she assumed he was dead. whatever, I'm glad that's done.
My favorite part of the episode was Sam visiting his adoptive parents. I thought that was some powerful acting. I now care more about his character than whatever has happened to Bill. I hope they don't flub it up like Maryanne.
It would be lame as shit if it's Lorenna, though. She already kidnapped him once, plz to not reuse plot lines 2 seasons into a series. 9/15/2009 11:25:03 AM |

could be a werewolf, but it'd be sort of weird for an entire group, who we know nothing about, to kidnap an insignificant vampire like bill with no previously shown motivation.
it's prolly eric/someone working for him.

Why? Godric and that entire arc pretty much sucked.
You think they really need to spend more time on a character who they built up forever and then gave a shelf life of two episodes to?

well i completely disagree with you, and IMO the Godric arc and Eric's connection to him was the biggest event & saving grace of season 2. It's about Eric in this case, and his development as a character and what he can take from his death & the final words they shared.

I know you read the books and you really love this stuff, and there's nothing wrong with that. But let me explain the Godric "story arc" (it's in quotations because it's hard to even call it that) from a person who has never read the books and is not obsessed with the show.
All the vampires: There's this totally powerful vampire who is awesome and runs shit. Viewer: Oh shit! Here he is inexplicably showing up out of nowhere to save Sookie! Godric: I'm pretty emo guys, let's not fight. Viewer: WTF? Godric: I'm really emo now guys and I'm going to kill myself on this roof for no fucking reason. Viewer: WTF?!? 9/15/2009 1:36:36 PM |

ddf583, I kinda agree with you having not read the books. They didn't spend anywhere near enough time developing his character to give us proper motivation to off himself. He's supposedly killed countless humans over his years and now all of the sudden he grows a conscience because 1 human blew himself up and like 4 vampires were killed? I was let down that the most powerful vampire introduced thus far was gone so quickly and gone in such a wussy manner.
I wish they spent the season on godric and him offing himself as the ender instead of this maryanne bullshit.

You'd think, but we really haven't seen enough of Eric to get this. Again, too much time on Maryanne and not enough time on Godric/Eric.9/15/2009 2:03:22 PM |
