As I started reading this, my first thought was "I wonder what his opinion of Tressel is?" He later answered that by calling Tressel "stupid". His entire argument is based on Butch Davis being smart (the same guy who trusted Blake enough to hire him...real smart move) and Jim Tressel being stupid.

this is the 3rd or 4th time I've heard UNC fans using the adultery analogy when referring to Butch's negligence. They have this blase attitude about how easy it is to hide things behind your wife's back. One guy on the radio said that he doesnt know everything that his wife does, and she could be sleeping with another man for all he knew - so how can Butch be expected to know what his players and coaching staff are doing??

The way they stick up for Butch through all this is downright revolting, UNC's "class" has gone down the toilet.

^^I really don't understand UNC fans' undying loyalty to BD. He's a decent coach and a very good recruiter, but UNC has gotten into significant NCAA trouble under his watch. I feel like if it were a State coach in the same situation, we'd be calling for his head. UNC fans seem to think that BD is their savior and they wouldn't be able to hire someone better than him. He's a good recruiter and a decent coach, but he really hasn't done anything special at UNC...just a few 8 wins seasons. With such average results I am surprised there's so much support for him. I could see this type of support if he had gotten an ACC title, or at least a division title. He's 28-23 (15-17) at UNC...why are they so loyal to someone who has brought mediocre results? I'll never understand it.
