Hell he knew it before the season started, or should have. I would hope that isn't some revelation to him that he might lose his job after this season.
I am glad to see he stuck with it even after negative results on 4th down in the Card game though.
Those two 4th downs on that first scoring drive really developed momentum for the offense. 10/14/2013 2:26:39 PM |

We've dug ourselves quite the hole here with these silly losses and other teams in the NFC keep seeming to win. Playoff odds really took a hit these last two weeks but we still look like we might be the 3rd best team in the NFC behind Seattle and New Orleans.
Not a good week though. The road wins by Detroit and GB really hurt our chances. On top of that SF, Chi, STL, Dallas, and Philly all won too which doesn't help.
The good news is the injuries are really mounting across the league and we've stayed really healthy so far. Just have to keep on clicking like this and roll through our next three opponents: vs STL, @TB, and vs ATL. 10/14/2013 9:23:12 PM |

Nfc is definitely weak and weve dug a hole but no argument we're as good as any team but Seattle right now after the injuries this weekend. We should roll our next three opponents 10/16/2013 1:22:46 AM |

Ok, I'll bite. The Panthers are not as good as the Saints, Seahawks, 49ers, Packers, Lions, Bears or Cowboys. So you're, at best, 8th in the NFC. Congrats 10/16/2013 1:24:43 AM |

I'd take that bet. Our defense is nasty and I don't see that any team other than Seattle has really proven itself. If, and I know its a big but not unreasonable if, our offense can build momentum off of 2 of the 3 most recent games, we could be trouble for this weak-ass conference. 10/16/2013 6:19:27 AM |

^I'll take Green Bay who has won @ 3-3 Baltimore, beaten 4-2 Detroit at home. I'll also take New Orleans who is 5-1 with their only loss a last second fluke on the road to New England. Also San Francisco whos only losses are @ Seattle and home to a good Indianapolis club. Gimme Dallas as well whos losses are to 6-0 KC, 6-0 Denver and 3-3 San Diego. I'll take 4-2 Detroit who won at home against Chicago and @ Cleveland as well. I'll also take Chicago who has beaten a good Cincinatti team and their two losses were by one score.
But hey...the Panthers are 2-3 with wins over 0-6 New York and 1-4 Minnesota and losses to 2-4 Buffalo and 3-3 Arizona. They are definitely better than those other teams with better wins/losses. 10/16/2013 6:34:31 AM |

Doesn't matter how good your defense is if your offense can't convert in the redzone and you turn the ball over.
Ask the 2004 NC State football team. #1 defense, team finished 5-6.
Not sure how you can watch the Arizona game and group us in even the top 6 in the NFC. So far we've looked great 2 games, and both of those games were against 2 of the worst teams in the NFL. If we're still even in the hunt for a wildcard spot after the next 6 weeks, I'll be amazed. I'd be happy just to go 3-3 in that stretch. 10/16/2013 8:45:57 AM |

I'm not saying the Panthers are world beaters, but some people itt act like the teams like the 9ers and Saints are miles ahead of us. It's just simply not true. 10/16/2013 8:56:24 AM |

You cant be so results oriented and just look at wins and losses. A lot more to it than that. Nfl games are too close and small in sample size dto use strict win/loss records.
Bottom line is that other teams are sustaining veru significant injuries and we are healthy. And that thus far only Seattle and kansas city have superior defenses to us.
The offense is functioning as an above average unit. If it gets slightly better then we are one of the most balanced teams in the league.
I know its easy to be pessimistic bc weve had several down years but this is clearly a top team just looking at it objectively. 10/16/2013 1:10:49 PM |

49ers haven't looked like the 49ers since Week 1 and the Packers have an odd cloud hanging over them. something just looks off with them

I'd say the Lions and Saints are better than the Bills...but both of the Bears' losses were by 8 points (technically one score), and the Panthers' loss to the Bills was by 1 point...the Bears were down 13 at the end of the 3rd to the Saints, and down 21 to the Lions after 3 quarters...whereas the Panthers had a poor coaching decision and bad prevent defense to lose on an extra point to Buffalo10/16/2013 6:09:38 PM |

Chicago also needed a miracle to beat the Vikings at home scoring with like 5 sec to go.
I cant remember exactly when but they were losing anf scored late vs the bengals to steal that game too.
The difference in theirs and the panthers record? A little bit of luck. 10/16/2013 6:46:33 PM |

But, at this level, I thought it was expected that players generally perform in the moments that count. If you can't do that, then you're pretty bad, right? 10/20/2013 1:44:57 PM |

At the NFL level it's mostly coaching and execution that makes the difference (aside from injuries). Everyone is good athletically, it's all in how good you are at scheming and executing. Panthers have no offensive creativity. 10/20/2013 1:55:37 PM |
