that was as crushing of a loss as I can remember, but holy fuck do losses bring out absolute stupidity in people

for now, without enough time to really re-think the game, I'll blame fatigue and mismanagement of a 16 point 2nd half lead

but that was as epic of a shitting the bed as you're ever gonna see

on the bright side, happy that I haven't seen any ref-blaming. at least we have that going for us.

and TJ averaged 38 minutes during his last 5 games after absolutely carrying us during each of those games. he didn't choke, he was absolutely gassed

as much as that loss makes me hate to be an nc state fan, I am slowly getting over it.

Thank you TJ for an awesome year, and game after game of you amazing me with your skill. Congrats on ACC POY, it's a rare honor for our team.
Thank you to the team, for making the ncaa tournament, winning a game, and for playing awesome basketball for the majority of your final game.
Thank you also to the team for exceeding expectations, being a fun team to watch, and giving me some hope for next year.

I will be back next year with the highest hopes in my season ticket seats, wearing my tradition scarf, and blindly believing in the capabilities of our team.

it stings tonight, but this season has to be considered an unqualified success

we barely got into the tournament and were a few free throws away from advancing

we've got a really solid group of freshmen and some good players coming in next year with lacey, abu and the martin twins

and hell, cat and tyler seem to like each other ok

This one hurt. TJ played probably as poorly as he had in the last 2 months and we still had a 12 point lead with like 5 minutes left. Similar to a few other games early in the year when our offense went bad and we stopped playing any semblance of defense - the minute we started bricking the shit out of our FT's - our defense went really, really bad. Feel terrible for TJ, his season clearly shouldn't be defined by this, but jesus that was a rough performance from the line.

The team, and TJ in particular, looked totally gassed at points, but it wouldn't surprise to me at all to find out that TJ's minor ankle issues that popped up at the end of the season turned out to be much more of an issue than he and the team were letting on.

It was their 5th game in 8 days so I can understand the fatigue.

I'm sure they were worn out mentally as well, which probably had as much to do with it as anything.

I really thought I had moved on in my life in regards to letting NC State games affect me....but that's about as bad as I've felt in a really long time after a loss. My stomach was churning as I tried to fall asleep, and again this morning when I woke up and tried to go back to sleep. I think I'm finally over it, but I'm definitely not in a good mood right now. I hope UNC gets fucking blasted tonight.

I also don't see how you can blame this on the coach. Do you actually think it was the coach's fault that every single player shit the bed in the last 5 minutes and over time?? Do you really think he's responsible when every player plays well?? Coaches implement game plans, they draw up plays, and they try and motivate players. Our game plan was fine, I didn't really notice any fuck-ups with plays, and our players didn't look like they weren't motivated....they just completely shit the bed on the free throw line, on a few defensive lapses, and had some bad turnovers.

Hindsight is 20/20, but I think Lewis should have been in there more at the end of regulation than Barber. I know he made a few boneheaded turnovers...but I think he would have been better at the free throw line....ah fuck it...we could have put Steve Nash up there and he would have bricked five in a row last night.
