If there is one thing this entire process has taught me it's that America is full of idiots. Both sides of the aisle included in this. Social media has given these people a voice and reading these posts every day has made me very sad for humanity in general.

Pretty obvious that to Trump "fake news" = negative news to Trump.

Look, Buzzfeed is garbage but whatever you say about CNN they are guilty of reporting news with bias; that's it. They don't make up stuff out of thin air.

He really is going to mak be his entire four years about relitigating the election and complaining about media, isn't he?

^^ that's not the point. It's a lie to say what CNN reported was fake news. It wasn't. They didn't report the uncorroberated nonsense Buzzfeed did.

Look, I don't say FNC spreads fake news. They don't. They pick and choose what to report and spin it with bias. Trump is going to convince his legions of ignoramuses that EVERY negative news story from anywhere is fake. That isn't healthy.

It's plainly obvious his relationship with the free press is going to border on autocratic and that is a best case.

legions of people across this country came to the conclusion that every news story is fake before Trump ever ran for office. Slanted news is why we have Trump in the first place; the media lost their credibility and thus their attack pieces on Trump only strengthened his support. All Trump had to do was vocally say about the media what many Americans already thought.

Judging from polls, the platforms, background, and the experience of the candidates, that wasn't a off the wall prediction. Not even to the Trump campaign. Using the false prediction of the media as an example of "fake news" is utterly ridiculous.

Do I need to put periods after every word to restate my point?

Bias. In. Media. Does. Not. Mean. The. News. Is. Fake.

rigging polls and then reporting on it as credible news makes it fake news. That's what happened throughout the election. The only agency that didn't tamper with their model to join the concensus with Hillary way ahead was the LA Times daybreak poll, and that poll turned out to be accurate in the end. Other news agencies made fun of them for daring to show Trump in the lead.

Trump's campaign team used the data from the LA Times poll for much of their campaign decisions. You think that was mere coincidence, or did they know what the media refused to report on?

The most amazing part of this for me is it started as an oppo research effort by Jeb's primary campaign involving an ex-MI6 agent, later picked up by the Dems, and then finally followed up on by John fucking McCain a month after the election. The best screenwriters in Hollywood couldn't produce a better script.

To follow up:
The final popular vote had Clinton +2 I believe. The national poll with the largest disparity was............ the LA Times tracking poll! Had Trump +3.

Not sure where you're getting your info from, but the national polls were the most accurate they've ever been-- Hillary won by 2-3pts. LA Times was the worst poll.

The state level polls were off, but this wasn't conspiracy or rigging, it wasn't fake news. It was just incomplete data. And 538 was showing a high level of uncertainty in these races.

But regardless, it wasn't until the 2nd Comey letter that Trump actually took the lead in the few upset states he won-- he didn't win by a sea-change. There is no movement.

The vote counts don't show a revolution, he won by a fluke of the media cycle.

If the FBI had deemed it necessary to comment on their investigations into Trump's ties to Russia (which also turned up nothing-- just like the Clinton emails), Trump would probably have lost.

It is pretty amazing that the huckster fooled a college educated guy into thinking that Buzzfeed and CNN reported the same thing.

I underestimated the draw of a con man and how manipulative he actually is.

Every time I hear Trump mention "8 years" I laugh. Seriously, we are in survive 4 years mode and hit the reset button. Has it ever happened where a party didn't send out the incumbent after 4 years to run again? If not I would not be surprised if it happened this time. Otherwise, whoever the democrats send out will be president.

^ part of me thinks that was the plan all along. Lord knows they will have plenty of reasons to draw from, what with the reluctance to divest from his businesses, the Trump hotel, possible collusion with Russia, nepotism, etc....
With Trump impeached, Pence would step up to the plate.... Who is assumed to be running the show anyway. Pence is already well liked in GOP circles.
