for those of you who are unaware...i can be a rabid ebay shopper...

i had to break my habit a few years ago after going shoe/jeans crazy...

however...i've found myself needing some nice jeans and i'm just not willing to pay retail prices for designer jeans...

i do my homework on every pair i bid on to make sure they are authentic and have managed to make some great purchases in the past...

including these 2 in the last week...

Last week I got this AWESOME pair of Citizens of Humanities for $31.50, shipping included...

I also just got this pair of Citizens for $45.94, shipping included...

now I just have this pair of Citizens left to bid on...current price is $26.00

it also helps that i have an enabler paying for these now

maybe i should try to wear it for my birthday this weekend

regarding glitter heels, why don't you just take a pair of shoes with nice lines but that is scuffed or whatever, go to whatever craft store and pick your favorite glitter and get some e6000 glue and make your own

casey - i've gotten some jeans off ebay in the past, too! i stick with brands i know my size in (7s and citizens)...otherwise i'd be too scurred they wouldn't fit

and yea ^ i was wondering how hard it would be to make glitter shoes. surely not THAT hard, right?!?

^^^i find the brand/cut/style/size in the store that works then search ebay for those specs...

I spent 2 hours in Uniquities in Cameron Village just trying on designer jeans one night...the sales girl was awesome...I told her upfront I wasn't in the market to buy but just wanted to find out what worked best...she hauled jeans in and out of the dressing room for me and made a list for me of the ones that worked best...

she wouldn't even take any money when I tried to tip her for all her trouble and hard work...

now i know that Citizens of Humanity, size 31, Ingrid cut 98%/2% are the perfect fit for me...

you have to ask a lot of questions to the seller sometimes to make sure they are legit for designer jeans...

if i still have questions i consult http://www.authenticforum.com/index.php

^p.s....i would wear the shit out of those glitter shoes with any of the jeans i pictured above

we should have a get together where we make glitter pumps and then plan an outing where we all wear them.

"you know what i LOVE but would never have an occasion to wear (except i'd totally put them under my wedding dress if i were getting married)....GLITTER PUMPS

i love them. esp the christian louboutin ones ($$$$$). i love love love them. what do you wear them with in real life though? i feel like you have to be a super fashionista (in like NY or LA) or a celeb to wear them because they seem too funky for going out in raleigh. i guess they'd be good for NYE or some other cocktail party. but i don't go to cocktail parties soooo, yea. no glitter shoes for me. i <3 them though. GLITTTTERRRRRRR."

I think you can get away with wearing glitter pumps out on a Friday or Saturday night in downtown Raleigh as long as you pair them with something VERY simple, like a basic LBD or black short shorts with a skinny tank. Or sexy designer jeans and a white tank. I REALLY like the idea of glitter pumps with designer jeans, but it may not work for Raleigh. It would definitely work in Orlando.

And you could get away with flashier attire in some cities, like Orlando, Miami, Vegas or LA. But I generally think that less is more and that it's best to wear just one flashy piece.

I have sequined pumps and they are teh winz!

Stupid fat thighs.

And what's a girl with wide feet to do when in search of pumps?

if you find a good designer that you like, you'll fit their jeans 4/5 times. I always know I can count on Joes or James jeans to fit me like a dream and I order them of ebay all the time. I've had a couple of pairs not work out but considering the savings its been well worth the gamble for me.

I got my hair cut.

Before

After

I will grow my hair out again and this time trim it more often so hopefully I can keep it long longer. The ends were so damaged because it kept forming that huge knot in the back.

i need help! i have a formal to go to next weekend (12th) and need a cute, fun cocktail dress. i really would like it to be purple, but...not set on that. i went to crabtree today and couldn't find anything! i know it's not exactly "dress" season, but does anyone know of a place that may have a good selection (for a reasonable price)...

Have you checked out Fabrik or francesca's in Cameron Village? They always have cute dresses for very reasonable prices. Fedora is also a great place. I think there is one in CV now but they have a store next to the Harris Teeter at Edwards Mill and Duraleigh.

I have used them and they work for this cut...I would not use my best bra because it does eventually stretch the straps.

what do you ladies think of this haircut for me ... would it take blow drying to make it look like this??

i like the haircut a lot

but that 'do is probably both blow dried and flat ironed. if your hair has any curl/texture at all it won't be flat like that and then it could just be a mushroom type look if you don't blow dry!!!!

so if you are going to cut it and don't want to blow dry i don't think i'd go that short because if it is poofy it won't look right hah. but that is just my opinion.

if you DON'T mind blow drying, then i think it will be amazingly cute!

My new haircut is very similar to that one. I'm able to just comb it and let it air dry, but I have extremely fine straight hair with almost no curl or body. I'm afraid that if you have some curl or body to your hair that you're going to have to work with it to get that smooth of a look.

But I love the hair cut.

I want to go short for the summer ... any suggestions that would be low maintenance???

your hair looks thick and wavy and i believe you've stated before you live in Charleston, SC (aka the humidity capital of america). i agree with katherine, i think you might find that its more stressful to have shorter hair (especially with spring and summer approaching) than longer hair.

if i were you, i would try cutting it to the shoulders and see how that goes. or make sure you really trust your stylist's opinion when you ask them if they think this will be a good hair cut for your hair.

i bought some of that neutrogena pink grapefruit face cleanser that everybody was talking about. after 2 uses my face is sloughing off. no amount of moisturizer will control it. i have oily skin too.

Britta,

Since you live in a very humid area, I recommend getting a keratin treatment. Your hair will be UBER manageable and you won't deal with frizzies/flyaways. And the dry time will be cut down to nothing. Very helpful if you decide to go short for summer.

Here is my short hairstyle from last Summer. I spent about 5 minutes blow drying it and it was good to go. I have thick, wavy hair.

Nerdchick, isn't your hair thick and curly when it is short? You might need to purchase a blow dryer if you want your hair that straight and flat. I think the hairstyle is wicked cute!!!
