Slightly more than zero chance of that happening. More like .0000000001%.

He's undersized and not a terribly gifted shooter at this point. I think we'd all be ECSTATIC if he could put together a season like Kemba Walker did for UConn (I see his skillset and size the most similar to Harrow) this past year and he was flat out told there was no way he was going to be a first rounder this year if he left. He needs to put on more weight and improve his shot still.

i love Harrow as much as the next guy

but.....

skinny point guards with street ball handling skills and the ability to dunk are dime a dozen. flashy does not mean NBA-ready

assuming he has a great year...what do you think his chances are of 'testing the waters' this year?

I wouldn't waste it after his first year... but a lot depends on the NBA labor situation.

I mean I guess it's possible he can have an amazing year and find himself at the end of the first round, but I think he will be the least impact of our three great freshman this year based on his size/skillset.

He is the kind of guy who has the frame to put on some weight and he will need to improve his outside shot. I'd work all summer doing that -- after all, the biggest change in the body of a college bball player comes between freshman and sophomore year typically -- and see where I fall after my sophomore year.

Just my opinion, though.

I think Harrow stays at least 2, maybe 3 years strictly due to his size. He doesn't have an NBA body right now and will have to get into a college weight training program from what I've heard.

We couldn't have asked for better timing to have our best recruiting class considering the looming NBA lockout. I fucking love the NBA more than anything...but if it means we keep CJL another year and Harrow and Brown if they possibly tear it up (I think Harrow is at least a 2 or 3 year guy)...then that would be awesome.

I think CJL is the only who might leave after a year, and I think that would even be tough considering the team has a decent amount of other options and he won't be the focus of the offense like JJ Hickson was. He'd have to have a Marvin Williams/Brandan Wright type of year...and he won't get the exposure here that they did at UNC.

It reminds me of the Jeff Teague situation, Teague was even 2 inches taller coming out of high school. Harrow may be a tad more hyped than teague, but if we can get out of him what Wake got then i'd be thrilled.

brandon jennings is one of the smallest starting guards in the nba and he was 6'1 170 coming out of HS (he actually hasnt put on any weight since)

teague was 6'1 170 as well and came out at 6'2 ~180

darren collison is 6' 160 but im guessing that played a part in him staying in college for 4 years

ryan is listed at 5'11 155 some places...he might be 6 feet now

point is if you can play the NBA will take you, but it wouldn't hurt if he grew another inch or two and put on 20 pounds

I think Ryan is at least 6'0 now. I've seen him listed at 6'1, but he's probably 6'0.

There's about a .0000000000000000000000000000001% chance of him leaving after one year. Maybe 10% after two years (thanks to his size)

Something like 70% chance Leslie is gone after one, 98% he won't make it to his junior year.

I think Brown's magic number is 3 years.

I believe we're waiting on Mabry's court date to see how that goes before he get an offer.

i don't think mabry commiting/signing has anything to do with waiting on mays' transfer.

think of carolina's oversigned football recruiting classes and kentucky's basketball situation last year.

I was just about to bring up Brandon Jennings' skinny ass but tower beat me to the punch

Harrow can't score like Jennings, that I'm aware of, but BJ should pretty much shit over any argument that he is too small

I guess Tayshaun Prince and Kevin Durant are too skinny also

I'm not saying Harrow is as good as Jennings but here are their stats from their senior seasons:
Jennings: 32.7 pts, 7.4 assists and 5.1 boards
Harrow: 31.6 pts, 5.2 assists and 4.1 boards

skinny and tall = NBA prospect
skinny and short = not so much

the court date isnt the only thing in the way with mabry but im guessing theyre waiting it out too

i wouldnt be as optimistic with leslie. im pretty sure he has the attitude that he's 1 and done as long as he doesn't injure himself or something. he's a bit of a tweener so there's always a chance he comes back (see: aminu) but i wouldnt get your hopes up. 85%+ he's gone imo

Brown's magic number is 3 in my mind too...but it's 3 years out of HS, not 3 years here. Hopefully I'm wrong

I honestly can't believe Durant gets any rebounds, much less getting 7.6 per game.

Dude can't even bench 185.

Harrow is not a dime a dozen. Yes he has a "flashy" game. But watch some of his workout video's he is training to play at an organized professional level. His speed, dribble quickness and decision making is awesome. It also looks like his shot is really improving.

Due to his size he could use a few years of growing/building out his frame before NBA. Apparently he's only been dunking for a short period of time. And if you see his physical development over the past year it's pretty impressive.

Yeah Harrow I think will be the catalyst that we have sorely lacked since the days of Hodge and Anthony Grundy (oh and this is for DROD900) !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just hope State's ticket office doesnt try to raise basketball season ticket prices to squeeze out extra dough from all the folks excited about next bball season (again for DROD900) !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Does anybody think Javi might have a problem with CJL saying, and I'm paraphrasing, "they've really only lacked a PG, now they have two coming in"

kinda struck me as odd to call the current players out. I'm sure Javi realizes that Brown/Harrow are much more highly touted than him, but it's not like we lost him and Mays already..

javi seems more of a 2 guard to me...he can't create off of his own dribble like other big time PGs...

I don't know, he may be more of a PG but he's definitely not as true as Harrow

CJL can't help the truth

Javi is definitely a 2 guard. But I think we'll see him stay at the 1 since he knows our offense. But having Brown and CJ coming in will give us some more ball handling skill on the floor. Although apparently Brown is capable of playing the 1-3 positions.

I'm glad to see the efforts of Coach Lowe's recruiting starting to pay off, and the sky will be the limit for us next season.

Now if only, I can get off work to make it to Sammy's next Tuesday for Leslie's signing day!!!!!!

this lineup makes me so happy:

PG - Harrow
SG - Brown
SF - Wood
PF - CJL
C - Tracy

with Javi, Howell, CJ Williams, Painter, Davis, Mabry all coming off the bench. There were points last season where you could argue that the five returning players I just listed as coming off of our bench wouldve been an acceptable starting five (minus Davis/Painter and add in Tracy)

That lineup needs experience. They combine for 4 years of experience. I'd like to see that around the halfway point of the season.

But hey, im probably just stating the obvious.

I feel like Brown may have to start on the bench just so we have more experience. Also, if Javi/Brown come in at the same time it's still two good ballhandlers on the court at the same time, and Brown can penetrate instead of having Javi/Wood/CJW or whoever who can't

well I wasnt saying that I would want that lineup on the floor in the first game (unless they make it very obvious to Sidney that they are the best 5 players to start the game with), I just love the look of that lineup. We have the dynamic playmakers in Harrow, Brown and CJL combined with the sharpshooter and defensive lockdown man in Wood, and then our best player and experienced team leader in Tracy.

It just looks like the make-up of a team that can go really far next year. Of course this is all on paper now, and I'm sure everything wont go as I picture it in my mind, but damn it feels good to know that its possible

don't be stupid. no one is saying harrow will or will not play in the nba; there's no way to know that.

what we are saying is that a guy that has as much physical developing to do as harrow has won't be a one and done. and what do you know, neither was muggsy bogues, so i don't know why you tried to use him as a counter-example. you should've stuck w/ jennings, even though he is ~2" and 20lbs bigger than harrow so it's still not really a good point. ty lawson might be a better example as far as height and where harrow needs to be in weight.

from andy katz' espn blog:

Quote :
"• I spoke with C.J. Leslie Wednesday night, and he said that teams did negatively recruit against NC State but that he didn't buy any of it. He said he had been around the Wolfpack program and knew that coach Sidney Lowe is safe for next season. Leslie said that his joining incoming freshmen Ryan Harrow and Lorenzo Brown gives the Wolfpack a terrific class. I concur. The Wolfpack should have one of the top three recruiting classes in the ACC, which should make NC State a possible top-5 team in the league next season."

i guarantee you we will see a lot of more of the harrow, brown, leslie, howell, smith lineup

leslie projects as a 3 in the nba if he develops a better jumper and he'll be playing that a good bit
