Thanks! it was fun, but I'm trying to grow it out now. Since all my friends are getting married and shit, I feel I should have longer hair for up-dos. 2/4/2011 9:33:35 AM |

You look hot with short hair
I mean, I know you have other weddings that will be more formal and shit, but you saw how I'm going to wear my hair... Formal isn't exactly what we're going for

i want a Geneva Platinum jelly watch...
but there are so many to choose from..
i like the white one...
but i'm thinking maybe the black zebra...
or i could get really crazy and do white and zebra
or maybe just a nice, neutral tan...
or white and tan...
this may be my favorite but i'm not sure...

maybe i went back to my olay cloths for oily skin this morning. guess i'll stick w/ it.
britta, i've had really short hair (it's like 2-2.5" long maybe) for about 10 years now. before, i had thick frizzy poufy hair that i could never do anything with very easily. once i cut it short i was pissed i hadn't done it earlier. i just run my hands through it to mess it up in the morning a little bit then i'm good to go. sometimes i'll put that shaping clay stuff in it. i'll never ever go back to longer hair. it doesn't change w/ the humidity bc it's so short. it's awesome for backpacking
oh & it's not buzzed or anything. think pixy/fairy type

^^ LP, I LOVE the white and tan watch. Those are cute! How much do they cost?
Also, Britta, my hair is extremely, extremely naturally curly and gets VERY, very curly when it's short ... seems similar to yours. You'll prob either need to invest in a hair dryer and a lot of products OR do a keratin treatment to keep your hair smooth enough to maintain the look you want. For reference, here's my natural hair texture:
And with keratin:
This company should pay me, as much as I promote the product. But for curly-haired gals who live in humid climates, it can definitely open your hairstyle options. 2/4/2011 10:53:44 AM |

I am so excited about these shoes I just bought them for myself! I know they aren't that cute but I have always wondered why these type of dress shoes were usually only a man's style. YAY!! Happy Birthday to me!! I think GH Bass is about my favorite brand of shoe...I am now an old lady.]

thanks for the hair advice guys! I'm probably not going to spend the $Texas on a keratin treatment, (although those results are amazing!!) so it sounds like maybe my best option is to go super short. I've had that in the past so it's not scary for me Here's a pic from 07 when I was super short, and another one from later that's grown out more.
also I'm in the Navy so my hair has to either be shorter than my collar, or long enough to put up in a braid or bun.

^ I like both of those cuts, Nerdchick. The first is pretty fun, as you could add gel and spike it a bit.
But the longer version is prob a bit more versatile. Here's a similar cut that would look good on you, IMO (Jennifer Nettles from Sugarland):

so this weekend I felt like the bargain shopping queen
at Banana Republic I got these for $15 (originally $80)
then at Ann Taylor LOFT I got this awesome black and pink skirt for $3 (originally $80 as well)
but for a total of $41 at LOFT I got that skirt, a cardigan, a pair of dress pants, and two shirts
got some other great bargains at the Gap outlet too 2/6/2011 10:13:32 PM |

^^ i know you said you've tried everything but have you tried banana republic? their pants used to fit me well. plus they vanity size like whoa so i always need an itty bitty size there which makes me feel A+++ awesome
recently i've been finding really great stuff at places like belk and macy's though...in the women's dept (or whatever...honestly, i don't understand departments stores). they have awesome sales and there are usually coupons to be found for both stores. they carry brands like CK and stuff in addition to like...random ass brands you've never heard of. and they (sometimes) have free (or at least cheap) altering. so maybe check there? it sucks and you have to get past a LOT of ugly shit, but there are good finds to be had in dept stores re: dress / business wear. 2/7/2011 2:14:39 PM |

DO IT! I like the dress, it looks like the bust is really low but I think the model is just tall.
PS ... if I get jeans tailored, should I do it after a wash or while the jeans are still stretched out? sorry if it's a dumb question, I've never done it before! I got some awesome J. Crew jeans at the thrift store, but I had the classic problem ... to fit my hips/thighs, the jeans are too big in the waist. 2/7/2011 10:02:22 PM |

i usually get my jeans tailored after i've washed them. in my head it made sense to get them done at their smallest that way i wouldn't get too much taken in or cut off (i usually have to do mine in length) and then have them not fit after washing. but now that you've asked, i'm curious as to what other people do... 2/8/2011 12:02:25 AM |
