^I like the color and front detail, but the bubble shape with that style of top weirds me out for some reason. I've tried them before, but always feel odd looking in it.

i know, your reservations are similar to mine. :/ i didn't order it for fear of it looking strange on me. i mean it looks great on the model but...it would probably look idiotic on me. i haven't tried on that type of top before but i have tried on bubble dresses and they do not work for me lol.

Question: I'm wearing this on Friday to a charity casino night. What accessories can I wear/maybe borrow to make myself look great?

this is not a fun topic, but my granddad will most likely pass in the next few days. my grandma died last august & i bought a navy 50s style shirt dress (not quite as poofy as the 50s but not straight/flat either) to wear to her funeral. it has cap sleeves & a tiny belt, & it's just a hair longer than knee length. i have little black ballerina style flats that i wear with it. my dress coat is knee length charcoal gray wool (not that that is as important, but idk anything about style). i don't really have anything else that's funeral appropriate, so how do i make this dress work for winter?

what color stockings? i suck at this stuff.

i also have this http://www.titlenine.com/product/162526.do?kwd=amelia in the dark gray option. it says long sleeves but it's actually 3/4. it doesn't feel as dressy as the shirt dress but looks more winter-y.

I think if you dressed that one you linked up with a belt, a sweater and some nice accessories it'd look more appropriate.

[Edited on February 8, 2011 at 11:16 PM. Reason : is it navy in color? if so maybe black? ]

black for either the navy or the grey! black tights are approp with navy. i am actually a fan of the black/navy color combo (there are bad situations of course, but for a navy dress, black tights are typically fine)

i have another belt but it's black too. Would i be able to find one in a different color at ross?

the attire for the night is supposed to be "Evening Attire" so this works right?

so no stockings? that's fine.

Hm...i have no dramatic earrings either. fuck me

yeah, no stockings works just fine. Im sure ross would have some belts but even if you dont get a belt the one you have looks just fine.

Go to express, they should have some good earnings and bracelets that won't cost you much. Also try belk, they have a ton of stuff

So I cut 11 inches off my hair. I kept the hair cause I thought I'd send it into lock of love, but since my hair has been highlighted they won't take it...any other places that will take hair?

Here is the before and after pictures.

Kinda hard to see it, but this is the best picture I have with my long hair...

It's about that time of year again... tanning bed help?

I tan really easily when I'm outside and getting sun, but that isn't exactly an option in February Anyone have suggestions or hook up on local tanning beds?

I just need to tan my legs because they are really really white and I have to wear a knee length dress without blinding people.

NAIL EMERGENCY!

I need a recommendation for a nail salon in Raleigh/Cary ASAP.. looking to get a full acrylic set.

Anyone, anyone??

don't go to the nail place in mission valley next to ruckus (if it's even still open)

I used the place at Crossroads in Cary for a couple years when I wore acrylics. They are a door or two down from the Greek place and Subway. Not the cheapest, but I liked the quality. And if I ever chipped the polish or broke one within a day or three, they'd fix it for me for free. [That's when I realized I spent wayyy too much time there ]

Tanning Bed: Best place I've found is Sun Tan City (Used to be Palm Beach Tan). They have decent packages (especially for students, or people who still have a student ID), tons of beds (high, medium and low pressure), mystic tan and the new Versa Spa Sunless tanning. I have been tanning with them for 4 yrs now, well with Planet Beach for 3 of those, but they are awesome. Very clean and the staff is very personable and helpful. They have several locations in the Raleigh area. The ones I go to are on Harrison Ave. In cary, next to the Harris Teeter, and on Creedmore, also near Harris Teeter.

I'm loving these vintage cat-eye sunglasses, which one do you ladies like the best??? I'm trying to go for something unique and ladylike LOVE the first pair, however they are $82 The others are around $50 (keep in mind I have to get new lenses, which the shop said they'll do for $60)

The first pair is by far the cutest. I guess you just need to decide if having the ones you really love (and are amazing) is worth the extra $30).

I was thinking about bringing up massages in here the other day. I got a massage last week at Bloom Skin Spa in Cary. It was one of the better massages I've ever had. Of course the best I ever had was at a Massage Envy in Georgia so I can't really go back there often. I am thinking I should look into deep tissue or sports massage because it's hard to convince them to use enough pressure when I just get a normal massage, but the guy who gave me the best one I had kept repeating that it wasn't a deep tissue. Maybe I just need to look for male masseurs, which I haven't found too many of in the Cary area.

Actually I think the girl I saw gave me some cards for people to get $15 off if they schedule with her so if anyone wants one let me know. She was leaning into my shoulders with her elbows and stuff. Quite recommended as far as people in town go. If anyone has recommendations for other heavy-handed masseurs please share.

the only other place i've ever been (besides asia...haha and can't go back there often, though the massage was AWESOME...and from a teenie tiny girl, too. she walked on my bad and did crazy shit. it was awesome), where i liked the tension (and they have males that work there also) was moonshadow in cary

they are a medical massage place and do the deep tissue and sports massage too. so...i dunno...that could be a good place to look?
http://www.moonshadowmassage.com/

i can't remember who i saw there it was a few years ago now. but i got her to use a lot of pressure. i am someone that likes a heavy handed massage, too.

I remember looking at that place a few years ago when I was shopping around. I think at that point I ended up going with La Therapie because I wanted a more spalike atmosphere, but I may have to give that place a shot.

^ You know there's a Massage Envy in Cary, right? It's in the Shoppes of Kildaire next to Staples... there's one in Apex too. They do facials there.

Blue Water Spa in North Raleigh is super nice! I got a gift package last year and it was the best five hours I've ever spent. I got an hour long massage, one of their signature facials, and 45 minutes of body brushing.

Yes. It was also a 90-minute massage, which I didn't think would be all that much better than a 60, but OMG.

^ No, but now I'm very tempted to try it.

DEFINITELY recommend. I know Michael and Kyle Law (Michael is a plastic surgeon and Kyle, his wife, runs the spa) and they're fantastic! I've had one of their facials and loved it. Great place to go to.

Do you guys think it's worth it to get a coupon for a microdermabrasion if it's only $40? (Originally $125)

I've never had one but I don't want to waste the money if it won't do anything for my skin
