how do you guys classify your style?

I tend to play all over the map, depending on my mood. In doing that, I fail to see which is most lucrative and I know it hurts the bottom line. I let having fun get in the way of making money a lot of the time, and probably lose 50% of my potential winnings with lack of discipline.

Most of the time, I would classify as loose aggressive.

what are some things you guys do to get your game back on track, i've kinda been on a little slide the last couple weeks, and i mean i think part of it is just variance, but to be honest with myself i feel like im not necessarily on my a game, more low b, i need to like realign my game

i've tried mixing up the games i play, but that hasn't seemed to help much yet, what do you guys do?

If you think it's mostly variance just keep practicing and playing your game. If you're just bored and need a break I'd switch to something else for a little bit. Every now and then I'd get tired and start playing some 6 or 10 max pl omaha. However I just wouldn't dive into a brand new game you hadn't ever played before.

sickest run i have had in a while. just over an hour from 400 max buy in to 2300 on bodog. strait flushe, full houses, straits galore.

this makes up for last nights casino debacle.

Yesterday, I was at Upper Deck for an exhibition match (5000 chips to start). I had Ace 5 suited diamonds and the blinds were up to 800.

I went in and this little old lady raised to 1600 so I called. The flop came up with King of Diamonds, 4 of Diamonds and an Ace of Clubs. The old lady goes all in and I call, leaving me with one chip left if I lose.

She of course had pocket A-K and I didn't hit my Flush.

BUT WAIT. I wait until I'm big blind to play again. I get pocket 3's and quadruple my money when I hit the triple trey on the flop. I'm small blind, but all in again on the next go around. I win on a pair of five's, quadrupling my money again. I'm back in the game with 1600.

I end up losing about 5 hands later, but that comeback was special.

Id like to congradulate you sir as you are the first person in this thread to ever come back to some kind of respectability in a tournament after being super short stacked, esp in a tournament of such significance

finished 3rd out of 300 got screwed over

oh well, won a seat into the 100k tourn next sunday ($162 seat)


was in the 50k guarantee earlier and just lost out AA to KK as usual... fucking poker sites

im not so much into sitting down with $100 of my money. I'd rather buy into a tourney for $100 and play with chips.


heads up play, and reading opponents by their betting styles and other tells would be interesting too.

i have harrington on holdem vol 2, theory of poker, caro's book of tells, holdem for advanced players, and supersytem 1 and 2 somewhere, but i'm not sure where those last 2 are. i might have some others lying around too if you are interested.
