Folks that follow closer than I, have you seen or heard anything about a potential Galaxy Note 4 release date?
I'm trying to figure out if I should just hang on or go ahead and get something new now. 6/20/2014 11:14:41 AM |

The Amazon Fire may do well with old people because of the included 24/7 support, this feature has been popular among old people on their tablet
the phone won't be a blockbuster though, and I think Amazon is fine with that 6/20/2014 11:21:17 AM |

think it was like $2. just took forever since it was chinese mail
it might be more useful if I didn't have a case on my phone
if you have a samsung phone, be careful not to press the button as you put it in the jack, it'll screw up the app recognizing it because of touchwiz nonsense 6/23/2014 7:48:08 PM |

I got my cheap ass push button the other day. I don't think I'll use it much.
I had it set where one button press turns on the flashlight which is pretty handy. But every now and then it would automatically turn on in my pocket. So I disabled the ability of that one-press command when the phone is locked. But then if I accidentally press the button, it starts playing GV voicemails...I think there must be something built into the phone where if you plug in headphones, it automatically starts playing music from your phone or something.
Also, Google Now doesn't work properly when it's plugged in. I can actually say "Google Now" and the voice search gets activated, but it doesn't pick up anything I say, as if I wasn't talking.
But it was only like $2 with shipping so oh well 6/23/2014 8:04:13 PM |

I wonder how many of the issues with the cheap pressy button are in the hardware, versus the coding in the KlicK app.] 6/24/2014 11:56:13 AM |
BigMan157 no u 103354 Posts user info edit post |
it's not the hardware. hardware is as simple as you can get, and will be the same among all of them.
app i used was http://xiaomi.eu/community/threads/mikey-app-1-6-0.24220/. it was alright
i just didn't get enough utility out of it to keep it there. it's awkward to press on my Note3 with the case on. i'm sure others can find a use for it. it'd be good for an instant flashlight button if i didn't have an exposed module installed that does the same thing 6/24/2014 12:02:28 PM |

If you were going to upgrade to a Verizon-branded Android smartphone, what would you upgrade to? Thinking the HTC One m8 over the Galaxy S5. I really want a Nexus 5, but Verizon and all. 7/5/2014 9:28:20 PM |

I personally love the Droid MAXX. I bought it out of contract, and I didn't want to spend the fortune on the m8 out of contract.
(Although I will still say that I utterly hate not having a Goddamned physical QWERTY keyboard... I'm gettin' olllllllllllllllld.) 7/6/2014 5:16:36 PM |

I had the Nexus 5 for 3 months before I gave up on it. The phone is solid but reception, WiFi, and LTE speeds are garbage compared to what I've had in the past. I haven't dropped that many calls on AT&T in 6 years.
I ended up going back to Samsung for the S5 because I'm used to Samsung phones. I haven't had a problem since. The m8 is a great phone too. You won't be disappointed with either.

Yeah I posted basically the same question on M8 v S5. I'm wondering--is it worth waiting for the LG G3? I'm guessing it won't be cheap even on contract, and it's a big'n. Would it be worth waiting for, even just to see if the S5 or M8 go lower in price? 7/10/2014 6:05:29 PM |
