i laughed like crazy last week, someone over there started a rumor that the NCAA had accepted the self-imposed "sanctions" and also that UNC had already received word from the NCAA, just the NCAA was not announcing yet (hahaha).

Oh god there was a caller into Mike and Mark's show this morning saying a little birdie told him that UNC would not be getting a bowl ban and that they needed to question TOB about the lies he has been telling recruits. It was fucking hilarious. Mark kept saying "so, you are the father of a recruit then" "oh so you were present when TOB said that" type stuff. "so you heard him say that, oh no, you just have "sources"?. awesome stuff.

Aside from the fact that UNC basketball is a lot more of a threat than UNC football, I'd love for this to happen to their bball program, just to see how Ol' Roy would've responded

Butch is a cheater, but never seemed too rattled by the whole investigation, etc...Roy would be making natural disaster comparisons left and right, it would be orgasmic

Things Roy would do if someone impugned the integrity of his program.

-Have private detectives digging up everything on anyone involved in the accusations
-Make sure that whoever is involved has a lifetime ban from all UNC facilities
-Get really red faced
-Make sure that the NCAA doesn't have the opportunity to speak to anyone involved with the program (there will be a lot of surprise exams for players and surprise business trips for employees)
-Call a press conference and then send out a lone walk-on to answer the questions
-Shed a few tears in front of the media
-Complain a lot about how unfair it is that he's beholden to a mysterious group of people in Indianapolis
-Exclaim that he doesn't give a sh*t about infractions committee members
-After the committee handed down their slap on the wrist he'd show up for a game with an NCAA RULES shirt on.

Yeah, but I think this speculation is based on the fact that the NCAA's window to deliver penalties is supposed to close on Friday. But I've also read on twitter that it might come next week. Whatever, I am hoping for the best.

The NCAA also came up with some new guidelines for penalties, which is supposed to be much harsher. Hopefully UNC's whole situation is the first to be applied to these new standards.

the only reason why people thought it might be today is because there's a general 8-12 week window given by the NCAA on these things and we're at the 12 week point. it took Ohio State 18 weeks to hear on theirs.
