That's ridiculous. Waiting until after signing day is a big middle finger to any of UNC's recruits. "Oh, we'll just wait until after you've signed to let you know if your scholarship will still be available."

3^ Not to be a dick, but the reason is because they can. This has been going on for almost 2 years now and nothing has really been done to stop any of it. If the consequences aren't going to impact anyone, why worry about them at all? Until the NCAA slaps them with something other than the joke of a self imposed punishment they put on themselves to make it look like they cared, nothing is going to change.

they're both pretty hard to get into.

the reason that georgia tech is hard to get into is because the curriculum is hard. they also routinely suspend players because of academics.

the reason that unc-ch is hard to get into is for the sake of being hard to get into. once you're in and your tutor has arrove, it's all As and perpetuating the myth of the public ivy.

i think it is. i knew several people in hs who were accepted to State but rejected by UNC. and i realize that most schools allow athletes in that they wouldn't otherwise allow. but it seems that unc has higher than average acceptance requirements for students, and lower than average acceptance requirements for athletes... i might be wrong, it just seems that way from my somewhat biased pov.

yeah unc is hard to get into because they get a fuck ton of applications, they get to pick and choose who they want. After getting in though they have like a 96% 4 year graduation rate.

I'd say definitivley the ACC schools better than carolina in academics would be

Wake
UVA
GaTech

I think you could make strong arguments for other programs.

Additionally schools with big Medical and Legal schools tend to get a huge bump in academic prestige. MIT is about the only top flight school I can think of that can get by without a real Med program
