my friend got married in jamaica and they did a seashell bouquet. they bought them from micheals or whatever and then put a pearl glaze on them, to give them a bit of a shine.

looks really pretty

looked at the rules again. the cruise line we are most likely using just says no flowers may be brought aboard, and any flowers purchased through them can't be taken off. i will get more specifics when we actually book. i think i like the button bouquets the best though.

LOVE that one! but i'm thinking i could make the button thing pretty sentimental, with family members collecting buttons that mean something.

someone i know did yellow and it was hideous. the dress posted above isn't bad but its a very delicate balance between shade of yellow and type of fabric and cut

ummmm ok

this is probalby going to be dumb but i'm tired so if it is really dumb just pretend i didn't ask

so i really like the feather bouquet i think that is a cute idea

but the problem is the feathers yes - because they might have come off something alive? aren't there synthetic feathers? would those be allowed?

Yeah synthetics would be fine. Natural feathers are probably a no no because they can transmit disease to native bird populations.

Got married last month, thought I'd share some pictures. We did a lot of things ourselves on the cheap, so if you like anything below you can ask me about it.

For the thumbnails below, you can right click and view them, then add ?sizeM=7 after .jpg to view a larger size. You can send me a PM if you want a link to all my pics.

ok...what do you think....

bodice:

i just like the beading/jeweling on the bodice. the neckline would be more corset-y like:

this isn' the best example. what im looking for is hard to find.

skirt:

so mind that when they are made i'll make sure they match a little better, but this is kinda the look i'm going for.
also....

opinions?

This is their 2010 collection, but I know for a fact there's gonna be more than what's on their website. My dress was never on it. Could have something like what you're going for in a bridal shop.

w00t! I did good
nice that they'll be making your dress

this skirt is more fluffy, but it's got the layers...yet the corset has more jeweling, though not a cluster. It's from their 2009.

^my hips/butt are far to large for that. beautiful though.

this is the closest i've seen (even in my searches) to what i want.
make the skirt a little less poofy and a little more sheath.
and also bring the beginning of the skirt/bottom of top up a little.
add a little jewel accent to the top and you pretty much have what i envision in my head.

thank you sooooooooooo much elkaybie

i have never looked at wedding dresses and i am in no danger of being engaged anytime in the future but I really liked the lace on one of the provonas dresses yall posted so I went and poked around on their website. I saw 2 dresses that I literally couldn't believe how beautiful they were and how much I liked them. They really have some great gowns

No but that's what I want for my beach wedding, as well as a violinist for the walk down the aisle. Have a feeling I'll have to pick between the two in which case I'll add steel drum band music to my iPod for the reception.

I've been to three weddings where the people did the music themselves (ipod, CD, 96Rock , etc ) and two weddings that used a DJ or band.

What I have found in weddings that did not have a DJ or band is that there wasn't much direction in the reception. For the dinner portion it's not a big deal and I think the ipod works really well, but after dinner I have definitely noticed a big difference in how many people dance, mingle around, etc with DJ and without. If your DJ is good, they can direct the mood of the reception and get people out of their chairs and rocking. But at every wedding I've been to that used an ipod format, you had bridesmaids or whoever practically begging people to get on the dance floor or just out of their chairs in general. I've even noticed that things like toasts get a bit weird with timing and stuff when there isn't a DJ directing the flow of the reception.

So I think it really depends on what sort of reception you want to have. If it's just going to be dinner and drinking then an ipod is a good option. But if you are wanting people to dance and mingle around from my experience having a good DJ or band leader seems to be the way to go.
