Traded the Bawgerzz for some 39.5 Iroks, and got a new grille and side mirror.





Next, I am going to ditch the body lift, which means a new bumper and sliders, and redo parts of the bed at that time. Also nee spacers since the front axle is narrower than the rear.

I just got my 30 spline longs and locker in the mail for my front axle, too.

Boat:
Fresh Holley 600 CFM about a month ago.
New engine wiring harness last weekend.
Switched out the old electronic ignition for a Mallory marine distributor and coil.
Timing light was broke, so I timed it with a vacuum gauge on the carb spacer at the intake manifold. Planning to get it timed a little better this weekend and maybe mess with the idle air screws on the carb again now that the timing will be a little better.

4Runner:
Installed Kicker "Drug Seizure Special" ZX750.1 amp. Wired it up with 4 gauge that I pulled out of my BMW before it went to the scrapper and put in a Punch DVC 10" sub that I already had. Put in a new JVC head unit (sucks, but it was cheap!) Ran iPod inputs into the console. Total cost: $187.98. Sounds much better though!

Putting a new nose bumper on the Kawasaki SX-R800 stand up ski this weekend. Somehow ripped the old one off while riding. I guess there's a lot of force from the water when that thing nose dives at speed.

Accidentally fixed my keyless entry. I was poking around under the dash, and had to push and pull some wires around. Accidentally hit the unlock button on my fob and it worked (after not working for ~6 months). Awesome.

Bought and installed kevlar tires, titanium bolts and axles (with ceramic bearings) on forged hubs, carbon cranks...

Carbon mountain bike. To be fair all but the tires (that I just converted to tubeless today) and the ti bolts were already on it. Then again it has forged aluminum spokes and a bunch more blingy crap that I'm not mentioning. Also put in some lightweight rotors, which was probably not a good idea.

Regardless, it appears that I'm too slow to win, even w/this bike.

Oh boy Oh boy!

After having the '87 Audi GT Coupe in the shop for about 2 months, I have gotten the following maintenance:

strut mount replaced
new gas line
new fuel line
new plugs
new wipers
fuel intake adjusted

In addition to:

new alternator
new pulleys
new belt
new battery


all of this work over about 3 months cost me $875, but now it seems to be running well for the time being. I can't wait to get it inspected and registered because she is so fun to drive around. Pics to come soon.

2006 Audi A4 2.0T Quattro

To fix a misfire on cylinder 4:

-Replaced spark plugs
-Replaced ignition coils
-Replaced valve cover
-Replaced crankcase ventilation hose
-Replaced crankcase vent
-Cleaned valves and injectors (additive only)
-Replaced Fuel Injector (fix)

Then after the misfire a loss of 7psi of boost:

-Replaced Diverter Valve (fix)

Also new rear pads and rotors, and new windshield after rock on highway.

Then there was the flooding...

Loss the front lip and belly pan, will replace some day, just not now

^^replacing the engine has been a bitch and a half. the hoist we rented looks like it's from the 1930's and that doesn't help either. just it being a mid-mount makes shit really difficult to reach and tough to align the hoist. we ended up dropping it out the bottom after removing the axles, exhaust, transmission, and other shit and then using floor jacks (again, hoist is a pos) to get it high enough to drag out the engine.

no idea how this pos hoist is gonna go high enough for us to drop the engine in the top. I've been taking pictures of this whole process, may post them later

Flushed radiator, changed out thermostat, and replaced bent tie rod on 78 E150. Recharged AC and rotated tires on the Honda.

Flat tire on the Mazda when I got back from my 3 hr exam. No punctures, but I don't know how it lost 35lbs of pressure in 3 hours. It's holding air just fine, for now... Rotated tires on the beast while I was at it.

I changed a civic engine out the bottom and it was a breeze.

I only have one floor jack. I dont remember how I did it, but it may have involved a porcha deadlift if i recall.

This weekend the plan is to:

S2000
-flush cooling system
-flush brake fluid
-swap out street rotors/pads for track rotors/pads (however my pads haven't been delivered yet so that might be a problem )

GS-R
-swap wheels/tires
-vacuum interior (not very technical but whatever it's full of dog hair )

All this stuff is minor but I hate doing anything outside in this heat and humidity (sweat my ass off)

Apparently the S2000's coolant is designed for 100k, so I nixed anything cooling related.

I spoke to the brake company about my pads and they said I would have them Tuesday, so no hardware swapping this weekend.

Quite often it doesn't work at all. Do like adam8778 said and get a Mityvac.

Thanks. I'm aware of those tools but am asking about the gravity method b/c everyone on http://www.s2ki.com seems to rave about it and says it's the best method.

Fucked around with the carb on my boat some more. Running like a champ, but I can't leave well enough alone. I think I'm going to burn this 9 month old gas out, put in some fresh 93 octane, and see if I can bump the timing up a couple degrees. It was bogging a little when I tried to plane out wakeboarding, but then again I had three people in the boat, one person at the end of the rope, 700 lbs of water ballast, and four hundred pounds of lead. All with 89 octane gas I bought last October.

Swapped the defective iPod cable on my 4Runner's head unit with a working one. It runs from the back of the radio, under the console, and exits in the little tray right behind the cupholders; so it took a few minutes to get everything apart and back together again.

Tightened the alternator belt on my 4Runner and got rid of the wretched "SQUEEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLL" that has been there since '08.

Then I decided to wash my truck. Went pretty smoothly, but I saw some old Meguiars spray wax on the shelf so I thought I'd do that before scrubbing the rims and putting on the tire shine. That junk was old and wanted to smear in rather than haze over and wipe off. By the time I was done I was drenched with sweat so badly that my jeans had to be 3 lbs of water weight. Never got around to cleaning out the inside and vacuuming, but whatever. At least she kleeeen, lol. I think I want some rimzzz for it. Black 16"s or 17"s with chrome center caps if anyone sees a deal.

Never got around to checking the brakes.

Brake pads were ordered on July 23rd, and promised to be delivered by August 5th. It's now the 10th and they ASSURED me yesterday that I would have them tomorrow. At least they knocked $20 off the cost for my troubles.

I'm not sure why you would assume that I ordered parts online. As it were I called up Mike Jr. at Carbotech and talked to him for about 10 minutes regarding my car's current set up and which track I was going to and what problems I had with previous pads I had purchased from them.
