I have a plethora of weird dumb movies lined up on instant queue, most are awful (surf nazis must die) and a rare few are awfully hilarious (apeman goes to camp)

I love bad movies

Kick Ass was pretty awesome. The fight scenes with the little girl were superbly choreographed.

There are 50+ episodes of MST3K on instant. If you've never seen it (I'm a n00b, too), I'd recommend 'The Giant Gila Monster', 'The Final Sacrifice' or 'Pod People'.

The classic 'Manos: The Hands of Fate' isn't on there but I wouldn't recommend it because the film itself is so terrible, it's not worth your time. The Master's outfit from the movie would make a good Halloween costume though.

jesus christ eXistenZ may be the worst movie ive ever seen. and i liked videodrone, eastern promies, and history of violence so its not a david cronenberg thing. the acting is just painful to watch.

'God Grew Tired of Us' is great if you're in a documentary mood. It's about young refugees who come to the U.S. from Africa and have never even used electricity. Both funny and inspiring.

As for zombie films, 'Horde' is a fuckin masterpiece with an insanely high death count and 'Dead Snow' is about Nazi zombies. I watched both with a friend in dubbed English, the netflix versions might have subtitles.

Ha I've done exactly that before. They are entertaining enough to make laundry folding tolerable, but you can look away often and not feel like you are missing anything.

For MST3K I recommend Laserblast. Easily in the top 10 MST3K episodes of all time. Absolutely horrible movie but the commentary during several scenes had me in tears. I also recommend Devil Fish, another MST3K great.

Just watched 5 episodes of Thumbs Up in a row. Awesome show, some of that stuff is unbelievable. What's awesome is no matter where he goes, to the most backwoods places in the US, people are still people and every one of them he films is compassionate and wants to help. I wish they showed what happened once they left for New Orleans, the first season just drops off with no resolution there.

Great recommendation, this thread rocks!

No, I haven't. For the first couple of weeks it would bypass sign-in after two attempts. After that, it took multiple log-ins just to get to the selection page. The killer was the forced sign-in when the movie was starting to stream. If it couldn't connect to PSN, it canceled the stream right away. This happened every time I tried it.

watched "Metropia" today, it was actually pretty interesting. The animation is freaky as shit (hyper-realism mixed with almost paper-cut out style). Story is a bit light, but its short and the visuals made up for the lacking plot/dialog.

You dont need netflix to watch Thumbs Up. It's free on vbs.tv I watched the whole series a long time ago, it's interesting but lots of it feels fictional.

also, vbs.tv is a fucking amazing site.

it's a classic movie, but by today's standards, it is soooo sloooooooow. Good story though. Very revolutionary for its time too

^^ I liked it. The main character is the guy who trained Bruce Lee supposedly, but it's highly fictionalized and what not... and has nothing to do with Bruce Lee. But if you like Chinese martial arts movies like Jet Li's Fist of Legend, The Legend, Once Upon a Time in China, etc., you'll probably enjoy it. The scene where he fights all the Japanese guys is pretty awesome.

Ip Man 2 sucked, however.
