We shot terribly, were outmatched athletically and height wise and we still nearly pulled out a win. We showed a ton of heart and hustle the last few games and showed why Sidney deserves to be back next year to coach all that talent.

The issue was that when GT turned it over against MD, MD's guards were good enough to drive and convert them to points. Against State they couldn't do that, our guards can't drive at all and that has been our issue for a long while. Let's get into the NIT, go as far as we can, get some more experience and reload with talent heading into next year.

I think this shows that there is potential. I think Sid is a much better in game adjuster than Herb ever was, and I think once he can get his stud players in here we will see better results.

I hate to put any kind of expectations on our freshman class, but I think we got a glimpse of the future with this late season run (5 out of 7 wins, with 3 of those coming against NCAA bound teams).

Seriously, who didn't think we'd struggle this year? Most thought that the NIT would be a reasonable goal for this team. A nice run at the end of the season, some good quality wins over the RPI top 50 (Duke, Clemson, Wake Forest, Florida State (x2), Marquette), plus a very good bordering on great recruiting class, depending on where CJ Leslie commits.

Tell me, why shouldn't I look forward to next year?

I don't think any individual player is responsible for the loss.

Our arms were tired and we missed a lot of shots, particularly in the first half.

Plus, everybody sucked it up on free throws as usual.

Defense was really good though, right!



But what's the deal with Howell? Is his personality just kinda naturally mopey and unemotional? And why does he run like a fat, female forward?

Degand has always played like a loose cannon. He has been valuable at times but completely inconsistent. Lowe put too much responsibility on him as a ball handler. I can't wait for Harrow and CJL. Let's make this happen.
