was 203 the other day, so i've officially gained 9lbs since the beginning of this year. I have been lifting weights 3x/week, taking in 3000 cals/day, and doing zero cardio.
NOW IT'S TIME FOR TOTAL DAVE TRANSFORMATION
Plan on being 185 and <17% BF by summer

Just registered for the USMC Mud Run April 16 with two teams of hashers http://usmcmudrun.org/index.html
I didn't even know they had added an April date (previously it's just been in September) but they split it in two to reduce traffic and it's right before my birthday this year so I wanted to do the spring one. I'm stoked. (even though Fareako can't do it this year ) 2/15/2011 11:50:10 AM |

I tried to run 13 miles this Saturday but got lost and ended up doing a little over 14 and was still able to keep it under 8:00/mile
But I'm still only lifting like once a week. I've reeeeeeeeally gotta step that up or I'm going to have to stop posting here and start in the running thread...
CassTheSass, I know the American Tobacco 1/2 is the same day as the Wrightsville Beach 1/2 (March20th) so you could look into that one.
Joie, you have the worst taste in GSC I have ever seen. I'm considering deleting you from my contacts it's so bad. 2/15/2011 2:43:01 PM |

Thanks fuzzybunny but the half on the tobacco half is full as well.
I ended up signing up for the St Patty's 8K on March 5 (or whatever that first Saturday is) and I'm looking into a 10 mile race in Chapel Hill in April. I also am participating in my company's womens 5K team again this year so I think now I'll be good and ready (and now know to register much sooner) for the fall half marathons. 2/15/2011 5:08:36 PM |

your slow carb eating plan sucks. I'm more irritable and cranky than when I'm PMSing and my pee smells like I've been eating asparagus 24/7. my libido has also come to a screeching halt, but I wouldn't have the energy for a quickie even if I wanted to. fuck you and 4 hour body. I quit.

There are at least 4 widely varying recommendations on what to eat in 4HB for different purposes:
-"slow carb" (nothing starchy except beans/lentils, no dairy, no fruit, cheat days) -paleo -practically nothing but red meat and nuts -vegetarianism
Tim Ferriss is pushing "slow carb" so hard because he invented the term and it's slightly different from other approaches (who the fuck else is telling you beans are that important?); that is, for marketing purposes.
I think I'll stick with the second one, thanks. 2/17/2011 8:32:04 AM |

i'll bite the bullet and update/and post some pics
height :5'9" weight: 142ish short term goal weight: (i hate, hate, hate to have a goal weight but i'm going to to see what happens) 132ish progress/downfalls: im down from about 148-150 when i was in paris in novemeber. i had gotten down to about 137 but ive shot back up a bit. i know what works for me. which doesnt work so much for a lot off other people. i am NOT a naturally thin person. and my metabolism is not that great at all!
in that pic my hips are at about 39" hell when i was 14 years old they were 37" that being said i dont plan on getting my hips much lower than 37 (if im lucky enough to get there, which i have come close from time to time)
i plan on upping my protein a bit, and stop cheating as much. bagel bites, girl scout cookies, and beer arent doing much for it
i also have a huge problem with boredom eating, but im getting better about it
so yeah, there it is 2/17/2011 10:20:07 AM |

seems like losing more weight would just look unnatural on you. Why not focus on a sustainable plan for maintaining the current weight? Seems like a lot of people on here try to go hardcore at the end for the last few pounds and then burn out 2/17/2011 4:44:50 PM |

awww thanks guys
Wadhead1: actually about the same weight and inches, but i look less muscular i think, i dont nearly as defined abs anymore, but thats ok with me
arghxthats the thing, i have no problem AT ALL maintaining this weight, i think 140 is my happy weight. i can maintain it while still having 4ish cheats a week (+one drinking night )
(assuming no pregnancy nor illness), i think could relatively easily keep this up for the rest of my life. remember when i said i was down from 150? that was weight gain from 6 weeks of no gym nor clean eating.
so yeah, maintaining the same weight, wouldn't be a challenge.
and mind you, that picture is pretty flattering, im a hippy girl
but thanks ya'll. i will report back later. (ps i had a mini bag of Doritos and 2 cocolate covered strawberries, bad joie, bad! ) 2/17/2011 5:22:38 PM |

I admire your bravado, but don't be naive. You'll have to work a lot harder 10 and 20 years from now to keep the same figure.

^thats why i put relatively easily. compared to what i do now and what i'd have to do in the future....it won't be that bad.

All I'm saying is that there's a reason so many attractive people in their 20's become markedly less so over time. If it was "relatively easy" we wouldn't be the fattest country in the world. 2/17/2011 5:52:35 PM |
Joie begonias is my boo 22491 Posts user info edit post |
it is relatively easy.
i dropped about 30-40 lbs in one year just by not eating crap.
and just to reiterate i do NOT plan on keeping the same figure, but i do plan on looking as lean as a 40 or 50 or 60 year old could/should be and that can be done with mostly diet.

I like you, but the woman who can maintain a somewhat girlish figure into her 30's and 40's without surgical enhancements is a rare breed. All I ask is that you keep your expectations in check. 2/17/2011 5:58:53 PM |

^ahahah awww thanks.
yeah, another thing...i think a lot of 20-somethings dont really exercise and then BAM metabolism hits them in the face at like 28 and they pack on the pounds, and then they dont know what to do.
luckily thats already happened to me! i mean i was a size 16 a few years ago since then my lifestyle has taken a HUGE turn.
but yeah, hopefully i dont take ANOTHER dip in metabolism. i mean i eat 1600-1800 a day (and i'm a real bad over estimator!) i really, really hope it doesnt get to the point that in order to maintain i have to eat 12k !
but thanks for your support

Between Christmas and going off Adderall (aka eating fest for me), I went from ~146-147 before Christmas break to about 154 now. I'm not sure if I should be disappointed... To be fair, the only reason I got down that low is because I literally wasn't eating. So maybe it's better to pack on a few more pounds and actually be eating healthy (at least now, not so much over Christmas break). I am still waiting to start my meds for the hypersomnia but am not sure what to expect. They aren't stimulants, so I will want to eat - but I'm excited to actually have energy where I WANT to go to the gym instead of forcing myself.
And while I really, really, really am tired right now and don't want to work out.. I'm going to make myself do some Kenpo X. My engagement pictures are March 13th and I'd really like to be under 150 before then. :\ 2/17/2011 7:50:27 PM |
