The crazy thing is okc is legitimately better than dallas... They just go into shit mode at the end of the game which you can plant mostly on Westbrook for sucking but also on durant for regressing this year.

I guess mia will be heavy favorites against this Dallas team right?

Miami's 1-game better regular season record and homecourt advantage could be huge

also Dallas is 2-0 against Miami this year with a 2-point win in Miami and an 11-point win in Dallas

Here is a link to the finals schedule. If Miami closes out in 5, then the finals would be
moved up and start on Tue May 31 instead of Thu June 2.

That's retarded.

Durant was a bigger reason for them losing the last two games down the stretch than Westbrook. With the exception of the two 3's he hit, Durant was horrible in the 2nd half (how did he miss that dunk??). Westbrook and Harden were the only reason they had a lead/stayed in the game.

He's 22. He's going to be one of the top, if not the best, point guard in the league for the next 10 years.

Poor Thunder. They didn't choke as bad as they did the other night, but they just made a couple dumb plays. Missing a wide open dunk, cheap foul on Barea by Collison when he hedged on the screen, dumb contested shots when they should make the extra pass, not taking advantage of whatever match-up Harden had.

I really don't think they need to make any moves...they just need more experience (they might have gotten enough of it this year). But if they keep the core three (Durant/Westbrook/Harden), they'll be fine for years to come.

Wouldn't mind seeing the Heat destroy the Mavs in the finals.

^ also a full offseason to recover could be huge for Perkins. He was pretty terrible this year and I think its pretty safe to say he wasn't 100%

I'm not even sure they should keep Perkins. I guess they still need some size down low, but injury or not, I don't know how he fits in with them.

Funny when you see it work out equally as bad for both teams.

OKC did it to match up with LA's bigs in the playoffs...then they end up not even playing them and barely used Perkins against Dallas. Whoops.

Does anyone know if Dirk changed his last name to Nowitzki from his father's last name Werner? If so, then where did he get Nowitzki from because that is not a German name.

Just curious if some PR people convinced him to change his name because it sounded too germanic.

I doubt anyone would voluntary change their name from German to Polish. Poland is the Mexico of Europe.

I'm sure there's a reason somewhere out there, but I simply don't care enough to find it.

Why was there no technical on Wade for fouling Watson after the whistle? Watson was going to score on continuation and wade came in and knocked him over.

Forgot the automatic flagrant if lebron hits the floor rule. proffessional ballet league. Remember the rule states IF YOU ARE OUT OF POSITION, YOU MUST GIVE UP THE FREE LAYUP.

People bitch about the nfl rules but NBA pussification is to a much greater extent than nfl. nfl rules are about preventing head and neck injuries. NBA rules are about preventing guys from hitting the floor.

In the real playoffs, you attack the basket, you hit the ground.

dude, please. LeBron has taken it to yet another level this series. this time, on the defensive end.

Finals would start Tuesday with a win, thursday with a win in game 6 or 7.

^ you're right. against kansas. if he hit, it would have been game. he missed and allowed chalmers, the mia pg, to hit the game tying 3 to send it to OT

The refs have such a huge impact on the NBA its disgusting to watch.

Phantom technical foul on Gibson and pussy flagrant on boozer kept miami in the game.

Phantom foul on Rose for the 4pt play.

Gibson got mugged on the offensive rebound just before lebron's tying 3.

Come on, dude. Really? Watch the replays. Flagrant on boozer was legit. Rose hit Wade on the arm/elbow for the 4pt play.

Flagrant on Boozer was legit, foul on Rose was a total flop

I'm talking James Harden flop flop

and i'm not talking about the Rose foul on Wade for the 4pt play, talking about the Lebron flop they showed on Sportscenter

unfortunately i didnt catch more than about 60 seconds of the game at a time as i was watching State lose a 15 inning baseball game

D.rose is getting an asterisk next to his mvp. Not only did he not deserve the award in the first place but he had the worst postseason ever. 35% fg vs Miami and 39% overall. Coupled with multiple late game collapses and choking on fts at the end of two games in a row. The guy just doesn't have it

He carried the burden of a team that lacked shooters. As a PG without a steady outlet to pass to, the ball was often with him as the shot clock reached expiration, often forcing him to take bad, low-percentage shots. Yet you ignore this and point to his FG%...

This team was built to win in the 90's. They would've fit right in with the physicality of that era, banging with Oakley and Knicks and Alonzo with Miami. In today's game, they just don't have enough offensive weapons. When you're point guard is your primary scorer, it hurts everyone else's offensive game. Derrick Rose is Rod Strickland 2.0.

^^^And getting totally pwnd by the guy he beat out for it.

I actually thought for the first 30-35 minutes of the game (and I watched the whole thing) that the officials were trying to send it back to Miami. I thought Wade in particular was getting hacked and there were a few just horrible fouls that went uncalled against Chicago that lead to fast breaks and easy points. Miami meanwhile was being called for touch fouls, illegal screens (call it both ways at least), "walks" against D-Wade that were close at best not being called on the other end of the floor, etc.

Then after that technical on Boozer it was a totally different ballgame. Sure, Miami started playing with more confidence, but they stopped being called for some questionable calls on the defensive end of the floor, and they started getting the calls they usually get under the basket for Lebron and Wade.

Don't get me wrong, Lebron and Wade were fucking unreal in the last 5 minutes last night and it was fun to watch.

You can defend his regular season all you want (he had a great one...not MVP worthy, but top 10 definitely)...but outside most of the first round, he had a really shitty playoffs.

Was he tired? Trying to do too much? Maybe. I think he's just not as good when teams can focus on defending him, instead of during the regular season when a lot of teams are just going through the motions.

Bulls desperately need to get another go-to scorer.

Excited about seeing the Heat punk Dirk and the Mavs. Am I the only one that can't stand Dirk?? (and Cuban)

I've always hated Dirk/Cuban. Always liked Wade. The Lebron decision did not affect that at all.

I also don't give a shit about the Bobcats. Never cared for the Hornets growing up either.

People who grow up in rural areas generally favor the teams that play on National TV all the time, since those were the only channels they got.

People always make the same flawed argument about everyone who has a shitty fg%. They said the same thing about iverson as he took his shitty shooting percentage to four different teams.

The reality is there are scientific studies that prove your shooting percentage is a reflection of your shot selection and your shooting ability. Your teammates have almost no correlation to your shooting percentage in the NBA.
Now you could use an extreme example of playing five centers or d.rose with four 9 year olds, but the reality is rose is on a stacked basketball team so that won't work.

You can pontificate all you want about what you think you knoe, but until you start busting the null hypotheses off documented Stanford research then just know your competing with opinions vs facts.
