I was at the game and there were a couple kids who said something and were promptly told by other students to STFU. But we were reviled in the media both local and national and I clearly remember one of the local media dumbasses claiming that the RBC center rang with chants of "we killed your grandfather" or some such shit. We took a lot of heat for something that could not be verified by any video feeds...

Also iirc this was the same game where Paul punched Hodge in the nuts and he was not removed from the game (he hit the game winning shot) so there was quite a bit of reason for some venom from the fans.

i was behind the GT bench when hewitt yelled at us. that is one of the highlights of my basketball heckling. we were on tarver all game long for being dumb. it was glorious.

i don't think so. what he said was that the chant in the building wasn't about his grandma. he's not saying that individuals didn't say shit about it. this is pretty much the exact same thing that happened with chris paul in the RBC center. a few dumbasses make everybody look bad.

the press sit on the opposite side from the benches, so i have no doubt that some idiots behind the state bench did chant about his grandma. but just like at the RBC, this wasn't some massive student-wide chant. deal with it.
