have you had an issues with the wifi on the N4? i just switched back to it today since i got 5.0 and i am having this issue: http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-4/help/lollipop-wifi-issues-takes-long-time-to-t2941686

basically when you switch wifi on it will not even show any networks and then after a couple of minutes it will turn off automatically. the battery usage stats also show wifi as on even though it is not. it is pretty frustrating. what makes it worse is that wifi was just working last night and this morning at my house.

i sideloaded it last week now. works pretty good. i have this issue were the screen will not come on when i am in call. like my prox sensor is messed up. this was going on before the 5.0 update. weird becasue it will work when i call my voicemail so at least i can check that. but i will never be able to use an automated system or see a call waiting contact.

i swear android can be frustrating sometime with that issue and the N4 wifi bug.

just got my 5.0 last night. Overall I really, really like it. But, the new google calendar is pretty meh. Am I missing something or is there no way to view a "week" in portrait mode like I've always done? Also, no google, I still don't want automatic cloud storage of any picture I take on my phone.

Overall it is super snappy, looks really nice, new facial recognition is pretty smooth, always-on OK Google is nice and responsive.

The only other thing is that my phone will sometimes totally drop cellular network signal for 10 seconds or so. Seems to happen a few times every hour. I never had that happen until I updated to 5.0. But I had some dropped calls last night and texts that wouldn't go through so I started paying attention. I am on straight talk. It's not that annoying unless I am already on a call, especially a conference call. But still it's inconvenient.

recommendations for a new calendar app? I think I'm going to have to use something other than the stock calendar for the first time on an android. It is just not that functional. I think I might try 'Today'

edit: I'll try Today for a bit. This is really, really similar to the new google calendar but with the few tweaks made and features existing that I was missing from the new stock app

my HTC One M8 has started being slow as hell and lagging a lot

are there any apps to tell you what is causing your phone to be slow? the only recent change was i turned on OK Google, but ive deactivated that now and it's still slow. I've also added a gmail account, but I'm not sure why that would make a difference.

With the updates to Google Keep (I just downloaded this morning) that allow you to share notes, has anyone successfully done this from within the mobile app? If I do it from the Chrome App Launcher on a laptop it seems to work fine - just like adding someone to a collaborative file on google drive.

However, if I do it from within the Keep app on my N5 (which is where I normally am accessing Keep), it asks me how I want to share it, similar to when you try to share a picture or attachment via gmail, fb, hangouts etc. and just tries to basically share the text of the note via that outlet. If I choose to share it via Keep, it just duplicates the note within my own Keep notebook. What am I doing wrong?

Rear camera just stopped working on my Maxx. And flashlight app says it doesn't detect an LED either. I'm guessing the camera hardware just failed? I've done a factory reset, cleared caches, etc. Don't know much else to do other than take to Verizon to get a replacement.

So weird problem. All of a sudden my LG G3 (ATT) can't connect over USB any more. I don't even get the MTP option. It simply says "slowly charging over usb bleh bleh bleh". What's weird is what I connect it to the OEM wall charger it says the same thing. I got a USB Host checker app and it said my phone was missing 'android.hardware.usb.host.xml' and 'handheld_core_hardware.mxl' host files. It had a 'fix' button which I assumed restored them but required root. Went ahead and rooted it and that app said they were fixed but another one didn't . Still cannot connect over USB. Kind of a pain in the ass. The only reason I need USB file transfer is when I put music/videos on it but I guess I could do that over wifi on my network. Kind of a pain when traveling though.

Have found almost zero issues online and tried everything people have said. May just take it to an AT&T store and get them to give me a new one. Didn't know if anyone has had a similar issue before.

It's always been on. I tried turning it off/back on. Can't even get my computer to recognize the phone. Nothing in device manager that I can see. Uninstalled/reinstalled the LG drivers. Nothing. Guess I could try flashing a new rom on the phone. That might restore all the host files. Going to use that as a last resort.

Also since I can't USB tether any more this fix works for carriers that don't let you tether using the built in feature:

dropped my phone in the river and lost any contact i had added since getting my HTC One M8 about 6 months ago. all my old phones automatically added new contacts to my google account, but apparently this phone will not let you change the default account. you have to specify that you want to add the new contact to your google account instead of the "phone" account.

also lost all my photos. what is the simplest app for making sure my photos are automatically uploaded to the cloud (securely)?

NeuseRvrRat-I have the M8 and it defaults to the last option you saved as. So if the first contact you saved was to phone memory, every one after that will be saved there as well. If you save to Google initially, that will be the default from that point on.

these notification "cards" are driving me nuts...i can be doing something and google thinks i need to know about weather or the distance to the gym and it covers up part of my screen

how do i disable these altogether? i still want notifications (including sound, LED, and icon in the status bar), just not these annoying-as-shit cards that superimpose themselves on whatever i'm doing at the time

i know what google now is and that's not what i'm talking about...at least, these "cards" seem to apply to ALL notifications (facebook, text messages, etc)...in kk, you'd just get a scroll/notification in the status bar, not a superimposed box at the top that would cover up active parts of your screen

maybe that's a new google now thing, though why google now would have anything to do with facebook or hello SMS, i can't guess

i think you're just talking about the new lollipop notification system. Facebook doesn't do that to me though for some reason. Really just hangouts and I actually like it with hangouts. It would be annoying if it was happening with lots of apps though.

I am not sure what he is talking about then. My google now cards either show up on my lock screen or my google now screen. They don't pop up over anything.

I can't imagine that's what he's talking about...those aren't very intrusive and can be swiped away. You can turn them off though.

Yeah my money is on lock screen notifications or the ones that appear at the top of the screen, all of which can be customized in the settings.

you know what's less obtrusive and easier than swiping them away? not having them at all

they look like the lock screen notifications, but they pop up while i'm doing things...like reading, at which point if i happen to be at the top of the screen, they're in the way...maybe you don't read on your phone or don't get many notifications or don't find it bothersome?

i use nova launcher (which integrates google now voice commands)...from what i've read, disabling them in the settings makes them go away...which i don't want, i just want them to stay in the status bar instead of superimposing themselves on the "regular" part of my screen (like they did in kk)
