semi-permanent - my company is opening an office over there and i'm going to run the technical side of things - my wife is going to be the second technical person we have over there - we do basically the same thing for different companies3/8/2011 10:56:08 PM |

wow i am super exhausted today. :/
probably because i didn't sit down at all yesterday
the amount of work i do is not worth what i'm being paid, sadly. i will have to see if my discussed raise is on my next paycheck. if not, even though i like my job and people i work with, it is time to start searching for a new job. 3/9/2011 7:11:17 AM |

I hate that so many foods go bad within a certain period of time after opening them when I can't use an entire container of them in that time span. 3/9/2011 9:46:28 AM |

Yeah, that's pretty much why I stopped buying lettuce I would never use it fast enough even when I made sandwiches every day for lunch 3/9/2011 9:57:54 AM |

I have the same problem with sprouts. Most other produce I'm good with, but things like half and half that I only use a little bit of a time, or almond milk that comes in giant containers are a problem when they are supposed to be used within 7 days of opening. Yes, I go way over that, but I've had both of those go bad on me in the last week. 3/9/2011 10:04:17 AM |

My mom has been buying powdered versions of those milks and whatnot that go bad really fast and she loves it, so maybe try that?

I really just bought almond milk because I was curious and hadn't tried it. I probably won't ever drink it regularly. But I was still pissed when I realized I'd only had half the carton and it was sour. Then this morning I went to put some half and half in my coffee which was totally fine the last time I used it (Saturday I think) and it was way bad. And the sell-by date was March 20. 3/9/2011 10:57:59 AM |

where are you keeping it? your oven? 3/9/2011 10:59:16 AM |
Skwinkle burritotomyface 19447 Posts user info edit post |
In the fridge. It's on the door, which I know is not the place you should keep things that are more perishable, but honestly I have not had half and half go bad before and didn't think that would happen, and the rest of my fridge is pretty damn full so I didn't have much of a choice. 3/9/2011 11:00:32 AM |

yeah, that is weird... I have heard of people taking back stuff to the grocery store and complaining, but that might end up being more trouble than it is worth 3/9/2011 11:01:56 AM |
Skwinkle burritotomyface 19447 Posts user info edit post |
Heh, I thought about it for a split second when I looked at the sell-by date, but then it does say on the side use within 7 days of opening, so I can't really argue. Also, it was a like $2 container of half and half. (I did take a $2 carton of egg whites back a few weeks ago, though ) 3/9/2011 11:04:06 AM |

I always keep my milk at the very back of the fridge. Usually last longer than the expiration date if I do that. 3/9/2011 11:04:48 AM |

I know I should keep it further back, but I don't really care enough to dig through the fridge every morning when I make my coffee. 3/9/2011 11:07:36 AM |

I guess it is just us, but we rarely have a fridge so full that we don't have quick access to the milk, ketchup, or ranch (and milk is definitely kept near the back)
we do, however, end up with the forgotten leftovers, and we have to battle over who wanted to save them in the first place, and thus who gets to clean the nastiness out 3/9/2011 11:12:17 AM |

our freezers look that way...
and having a second fridge helps us too I suppose
that is where we keep beer, juices and other NA drinks, and anything we have extra of (and sometimes leftovers)- but both freezers are always full 3/9/2011 11:18:16 AM |

I have a beer fridge too. It's a compact one, and honestly I tend to forget about it. I seriously miss having a ginormous additional freezer. I had one that I think was ~21 cubic feet and I had that baby stocked full. 3/9/2011 11:23:22 AM |
