Hamster usually lives in the guest room, but since The5thsoth is here, she is in our bathroom. Apparently Peanut got in there while I was getting ready this morning even though I totally checked to make sure it was cat-free when I left. I went home for lunch and after I'd been home for a bit realized I hadn't seen him yet. I hoped he'd been closed in the closet instead, but nope, he was in the bathroom. I walked in and the cage was now on the floor (had been on the counter) in a couple pieces with bedding and food everywhere. Then the hamster popped out from behind the toilet. The cat was asleep in between the shower curtain and the inside of the tub.

when she was little, my sister had the school mice home to care for...one was pregnant. They were in a cage and got left on a somewhat low counter. Our dog knocked it off of the counter and the lid came off. The pregnant mouse was not smart enough to hide in the back of the cage with the other mouse .
