OK ladies....here's a question about heels etc...
So there are two seemingly identical pairs of Michael Kors shoes that are on sale and even though I don't need them, I'm sure I will one day and at $89 I can't pass it up. But I'm trying to figure out the differences in the shoes and the only obvious difference (other than the name) is that one has a 'stacked heel'. ?? Also, the 'raceway' ones are also on Zappos, but not the others (and they're full price, so as you can see, it's hard to pass up)
platform pump and
raceway pump

$89 is not a good deal for a shoe so heavy with legs so thin.

you mean 'heels' so thin or my actual legs? Cause I've got shoes much heavier than that and my legs aren't sticks ya know

I really don't think there is enough of a difference to matter. I think they probably just made more or less the same shoes with two different names hoping they could make shopaholics buy both pairs.

I just bought some really cute Marc Jacobs loafers. Well, it looks like a cross between a loafer and a moccasin, so I can them moccafers. They are lined with shearling and reallly super soft to wear to work. They are like this, but mine are tan.

has anyone ever gotten acrylic on their toe nails? One of my broke almost down to the cuticle and I got a pedicure today. She told me that it would be best to put acrylic on there so that it wouldn't get ripped off. I'm hoping I didn't make a mistake by doing it.

m2c, the platform pump's toe shape/cut-in is more flattering, IMO. the heel looks a bit different, otherwise that's the only difference between the two. and, by pictures, the platform looks like a better material.

anyone have a recommendation for a good hair stylist? nothing funky like the thread in the lounge...i think the woman i see is very shy about cutting hair/scared so when i ask for long layers i basically don't get what i ask for. i think if i went to a nicer place i'd get the cut i'm looking for...

yeah if i didn't have a family member coming into town next weekend who has given me the best cuts ever, i'd go to design gallery.

but i'm much happier with a free cut from mi tia!

i just have to figure out what the hell i want. i know i don't want too much length gone, mostly just getting all the dead and split ends gone. but what's something i can do that'll be an update w/o losing a LOT of hair? suggestions?

I recommended this girl in the funky thread in the lounge because she does really well in that area, but I'm seriously not funky. She did a great job on my blonde highlights and bouncy cut. Nothing funky there.

http://www.myspace.com/chameleonstudio

Her location is just off of Falls @ Strickland (I believe that's how I got there)

SHe may be at the Design Gallery or it may be Stylist Studios (I just don't remember)

If anyone lives in Durham/Chapel Hill, this place is great to go to:
http://www.cajusalon.com/home.html
My stylist Barbara is fantastic, and all the ladies there are really nice and personable. One thing is, though, you have to make an appointment, way in advance, or else get lucky. In October of last year, I only managed to get an appointment for late November because someone had cancelled to go on a cruise, otherwise they would'nt have had anything until after New Year's.

Has anyone ever been to DS Parada?

So I was playing around on craigslist and look at this bad boy... :O

GORGEOUS 1 Carat Trillion Cut Diamond Engagement Ring - $2500

This beautiful sparkler is approximately 1.10 carat weight, set in 14k yellow gold mount. The mount itself is unusual in the fact that it makes a ¾ twist which shows off this beautiful gem perfectly. It is a shallow cut diamond which gives it more surface area and appears much larger than a 1 carat stone.

It is an I in color, IS2 in clarity, brilliant cut and breath taking to behold. If this is to be a surprise gift I can have it professionally cleaned and polished, no problem.

I am asking $2,500.00 OBO. I hate to part with this beauty but I must sacrifice in order to assist my disabled mother with the closing costs for her home. Serious inquiries only please.

I don't normally like funky rings, but that ring is pretty damn cool.

Just don't like the fact that it is yellow gold.

that ring..........<3! except for the fact that it's yellow gold.

and cleaning isn't just for wimmenz. but first step is to probably organize the place. like, if you have junk that belongs in your bedroom out in the living room, get that situated, etc.

^^ If you have a lot of wood furniture, get Liquid Gold. Pricey, but makes your furniture look brand new and makes any room look great just by that little tiny step.

Yes... Emily... I want either a white gold or platinum ring and round because that is the best cut...

But damn if that ring isn't beautiful.

I'm going to Sam and Bill's next week, it's a makeover paid by a friend so I'm not going to complain. Has anyone tried them-- I've heard really good things.

1) target has a HUGE clearance on socks, partial hosiery, and merona tights right now.
2) because of said clearance, I just acquired an alarming number of different sorts of hosiery. I'm open to suggestions on how to organize that + my other stuff.

I think I'm gonna have to get rid of some clothes soon
