no, but i have noticed how often andruw goes to 0-2 counts then either weakly grounds out or strikes out. let him walk, he's worthless 6/17/2007 5:33:48 PM |

it'd be awesome to let him go then bring in torii hunter. i know ownership would never pony up the dough, but hunter is better defensively and lately has been more productive offensively. hell i wouldn't even mind aaron rowand 6/17/2007 6:27:55 PM |

Why the fuck did Liberty Media buy the Braves if they aren't going to drastically increase the payroll and bring in some big names or re-sign Andruw? 6/18/2007 3:07:18 PM |

^^ Just read back through some of the posts in this thread or go to the AJC website. It was basically a stock trade deal with AOL that helped both sides avoid taxes.
Liberty has said that they do NOT plan to cut payroll, but have said nothing about increasing payroll. Once Andruw comes off the books next year, I could see the Braves going after Torii Hunter. This has been speculated about on other websites too such as FoxSports. 6/18/2007 4:40:11 PM |

Also I hope the Braves make an effort to get Mazzone back in some fashion. I don't think they should just fire Rodger McDowell, but maybe they could bring in Leo as an "advisor" or some shit and he could mentor McDowell. 6/18/2007 4:41:34 PM |

why does steve phillips think dimaggio's hit streak will be broken?
because some kid in the international league has a 40 game streak
ichiro has a chance at breaking pete rose's record, he says, but he reminds us that the japanese numbers won't count
thanks, steve 6/18/2007 8:37:14 PM |

at least the phils and mess will probably lose too, so we don't lose any ground
