Yeah, I’m watching it while I study… Dyson and Austrie didn’t show up until like 10 minutes before tip because they had a presentation on campus so they are completely out of rhythm. They’ll win by double digits still though… Stupid to play a school like that on campus… These “biggest games in school history” crap away games are dumb for elite programs to do…

I'm watching on ESPN360 on campus... it'll be over shortly. UConn is about to go on a run. Up 6 now.

Too bad you are missing it. No Dickey Simpkins ("hot like fire") doing color but it is his bro John Celestand. Old school Big East players...

This is the first time Duke has played a true road game not mandated by the ACC/Big 10 Challenge (not counting St. John's @ MSG) since 2002.

Guess it's gonna be awhile before we see another one

Miami is playing @ Kentucky on ESPN. Big OOC game. Hopefully Miami can win.

Man look at Kentucky's floor. I really like it when they don't have the women's line on the court.

Agreed. Since Huggins is in his third year at the college level with minimal results and no track record, it is a very relevant comparison to Lowe.

Yeah, you're right. Why did I read that in numerous articles. Maybe they said "on campus?" I don't know...

Wow. Dominick Cheek to Villanova. Jay Wright would have been AWESOME here! He isn't going to be leaving 'Nova anytime soon...

** Christ, seeing WVU DESTROY Davidson on the boards compared to how we did is disconcerting to say the least...

Hmmm... two of WVU's best players aren't even playing and they are right in this game. Doesn't bode well for our team...

Of course, Curry is cold tonight...

yeah Curry was freakin 1 for 13 or something like that before he stepped up when they really needed him

they more they win, the less bad we'll look for it, but we could have and should have won that game on the boards

the one at Reynolds is good because it's NC State-specific

the ESPYs speech is just flat out the best speech I've ever heard. that man had the best presence I've ever seen. funny, sharp, great ad libs, great story teller....flat out amazing

The Reynolds one usually gets me pretty good. I'll sometimes cry on the ESPY one. It usually gets me at the end when he's talking about coming back and giving the award the next year. Grandfather died of cancer in a fairly slow way, and Jimmy V always reminds me of him. Good peoples.

back to the thread:

UGA beat Tech. not good for the ACC. UGA missed 11 of 21 free throws, but made a game winner with ~25 seconds left to win by 1

Within the first minute Dickie V is talking about North Carolina.

Jay Wright is like a less trashy version of Bruce Pearl... probably cleans up on higher quality trim than Pearl does too.

Yeah, he's a great recruiter and a very good game coach.

They are going to be NASTY next year when Cheek gets in the program. A lot of people think, and Rivals.com has already said, that if Cheek commits (which he will on Friday from what I've heard) they'll bump UNC from #1 on the 2009 class... good fans Nova has too in the Garden tonight.

As an aside, the BE Tourney at MSG >>>> anything in college bball in terms of atmosphere.

Should have clarified.. that I've been to.

I've never been to Cameron for a UNC-Duke game though I'd like to... I do like the big city vibe on the semi-finals night at the Garden though..

No way Villanova with the commitment of Cheek bumps North Carolina. They'll have a great class no doubt, but it won't be enough to overcome UNC. Now if State landed Wall and Favors/Cousins, then State would have a good chance at leap frogging UNC b/c State would then have the top PG and one of the two best big men in the class.

Name - scout/rivals * rating - position - position ranking - overall ranking

Villanova's class (w/Cheek)
Mouphtauo Yarou - ****/***** - PF - 10/5 - 28/14

Isaiah Armwood - ****/**** - PF - 12/18 - 31/62

Maalik Wayns - ****/***** - PG - 4/4 - 26/25

Dominic Cheek - *****/***** - SF/SG - 3/6 - 15/16

North Carolina's class
Leslie McDonald - ****/**** - SG - 13/13 - 63/55

Dexter Strickland - *****/***** - SG/PG - 4/3 - 18/17

Travis Wear - ****/**** - PF - 14/20 - 41/69
