need some advice at TE

greg olsen (CHI) vs. Seattle (at Seattle)

jeremy shockey (NO) vs. Buffalo (at Buffalo)

^^ While I agree, Jake also got a large chunk of yards playing desperate from behind. I'm not sure, I'll probably end up starting Brady though, if he throws it 50 times again he should be in for a good day.

Any other input? Brady vs Atl or Schaub vs Jax?

^ I'm going with Shockey. I think Colston and Shockey are the only receivers who will be getting consistent targets from Brees. And I have Greg Olson sitting in my starting TE spot and I'm not happy about it

^me too

i was excited about him with him now having cutler but he has been a huge disappointment

on the other hand, i have given up on players too early before and it cost me. i am just going to go on matchups with these two for a while.

and i would go with brady; he is going to have a bounce back game this week i believe; schaub is risky b/c if johnson doesn't get open he doesn't do anything. usually, however, he gets open.

Stick with Slaton one more game since he plays JAX. If he fucks up that one too, then I'd bench him.

who should I start at RB...

Chris Johnson, Ronnie Brown, and/or Clinton Portis

Portis is playing against the Lions so I figure he should have the better game but he sucked it up against St. Louis. Johnson is playing against the Jets who have a pretty solid defense. I am new at this so some advice would be appreciated.

Lions D relatively held ADP in check during the first half last week, but I still think they don't have defense and you should start Portis...Brown against San Diego is tempting but I think would play Portis

just my opinion, THE GURU can feel free to weigh in

Flex spot(PPR):

K. Smith vs. Washington (played well against Minny)

or

M. Manningham @ TB (seems to be the go-to guy and the Buccs D is struggling)

Right now I have Manningham hoping to ride his hot streak.

^tough one

hot streaks for young receivers almost always have an abrupt ending, you just never know when it is going to be

apparently something might be wrong with manningham's shoulder. maybe not too bad though. kevin smith is consistent, should get at least 60-70 yards per game and maybe a td.

What do you guys think of Laurent Robinson from STL? apparently he has become bulger's number 1. and you gotta think the rams will be throwing the ball a lot from behind this year

I'm trying to figure out if I should drop Chansi Stuckey and pick up Robinson. (nonPPR) thoughts?

i just think the rams suck...steven jackson went from a top 5 pick and fantasy value, to a fringe player in deep leagues (slight exaggeration)...only thing i'm going to trust about the rams so far is play RBs against them

[Edited on September 24, 2009 at 10:52 PM. Reason : and play your defense against them]

Which QB should I start?

Big "Pump Fake" Ben @ Cin
or
Trent Edwards vs NO

I'd go Edwards. I think he could put a few points up on the Saints (though they should put up more). The Bengals did force 6 sacks last week against a team with offensive line issues. I could see them possibly giving Big Ben problems (Can't believe I'm saying positive things about the Bengals D).

^^^ Rams suck, but I'd take Robinson over Stuckey at this point.. Then again, I'm 0-2 thanks to Adrian Peterson and Frank Gore.

it's better than being 0-2 because your team is underperforming.

i'm talking to YOU, Matt Forte and TJ Houshmanzadeh.

No offense, but some of these questions are downright stupid.

Start Shaub...he had a good game last week and the Jax game is going to be a high scoring affair. Houston's offense is beginning to click, and they'll have a little bit more success running, which will open the passing game even more.

3 WR's, 2 RB's and 1 Flex - Who do you start?

WR - Marques Colston, Steve Smith (NYG), Chad Ochocinco, Houshmanzadeh (Unsure of how I feel of him playing without Hasselbeck), Ted Ginn Jr.
RB - Frank Gore, Knowshon Moreno, Willie Parker, Mike Bell, Chester Taylor, Donald Brown

I'm torn between Housh or Willie for my flex. Or I could start both and sit Steve Smith or Knowshon... hmm.

I'll give advice in a sec...but first:

Fantasy News of the Day

Quote :
"Report: Mike Bell to miss 3-to-4 weeks

Despite not even yet being ruled out for the Saints' game with the Bills this Sunday, Mike Bell is expected to miss the next 3-to-4 weeks with a sprained MCL, according to the New Orleans Times-Picayune.

This means it will be Lynell Hamilton and Pierre Thomas primarily running the ball for the Saints this weekend, with Hamilton acting as the first-teamer. The Saints' running back situation is ever-evolving, so stay posted. "

Quote :
"Moore likely out Sunday

Lance Moore (hamstring) says he does not expect to play this Sunday against the Bills, according to the New Orleans Times-Picayune.

More disappointment for Moore owners, who has just two catches for 38 yards so far in 2009. You may want to begin exploring other options, though dropping Moore, who has Drew Brees throwing to him, might not be wise just yet. "

Quote :
" L.T. could be out beyond Week 3

In addition to almost certainly sitting out against the Dolphins this weekend, LaDainian Tomlinson (ankle) could miss the Chargers' Week 4 showdown with the Steelers, as well, according to the San Diego Union-Tribune.

This means Darren Sproles could now have even more time to prolong his coming out party. Michael Bennett should see some between-the-tackles carries, as well. "

Quote :
" Barber highly unlikely for this weekend

ESPN's Matt Mosley says he would "be a little surprised" if the Cowboys tried to play Marion Barber (quad) on Monday night against the Panthers.

He says if it were a playoff game Barber would be much more likely to fight through his quad injury, but that since it is only Week 3, Felix Jones and Tashard Choice will probably have to suffice for the Cowboys. "

Quote :
"Choice to get "at least" ten carries in Barber's absence

Tashard Choice is will likely get "at least" ten carries in Week 3 if Marion Barber (quad) is unable to go at running back for the Cowboys, according to Matt Mosley of ESPN.

Even though Felix Jones will get the start if Barber can't play, Choice could have a big night with ten or so carries against the Panthers' leaky run defense, which has allowed 336 rushing yards in just two games in 2009. "

whew..that's all for now. More to come later.

even when bell gets healthy, pierre thomas is still there.

Lynell hamilton for NO and James Davis (not this week) for cle are also possible options for fill-ins.

trade advice needed.

I have Tashard Choice, he has Barber and needs a replacement RB for him, he also has McCoy

I trade Choice for McCoy and hope Westbrook goes down and I have a decent trade...sound good?
I wont be starting choice anyways

In another trade

I have Earl Bennett...he wishes to trade for Braylon Edwards...good move? im fairly deep at WR already

Cassel @ Philly

or

Leftwich vs. Giants

I went with Cassel last week, but Leftwich did put up some decent points.
