i thought it was after an auto accident? they estimated that renting the car would have been $150. that doesn't seem too bad, but he and the former player should've known not to risk it. of course, then there's the $260 apartment application fee that was paid for his half(step?) brother. that was pretty stupid.

^^^I believe what I read was that the Leslie issue is pretty much done...but the $1300 to a former player is still being investigated. I suppose it is possible there is a postseason ban but more would have to come of this. If these are the only infractions, then I don't think there's going to be any ban.

Ok, so he totaled his car and borrowed one from a friend who ended up being classified as a booster after graduating from NCST?

I can see that, honest mistake and he's "paying back" the money involved. Particularly since they valued the rental at 150 bucks, that's just a normal mid-sized car rental for a week.

I could even see the apartment application fee for his brother depending on how close of a friend this guy is to Leslie and his brother.

But that's just excused because they're probably friends. WTF is up with the 1300 to a former player?

Also, why does Gopack have to refer to the brother as a "half-brother." It seems like they only would have gotten that from Calvin himself, and referring to him as a half-brother implies they aren't really that close so that sorta negates what I said earlier. Then again, I don't have any half-siblings. If you do do you normally refer to them with the half or just drop it and call them brother or sister?

I kinda hope so, just so he can more easily meld into the current team chemistry. So probably for a game or two.

I'm guessing its because they are being exact with the info and not using common references.

no offense, but that's a silly question. if it's his half-brother, why wouldn't they call him his "half-brother"? "Brothers" have the same parents. Half-brothers share one common parent. Depending on the situation, he may have never even lived in the same house as his half-brother, or may not have even had a relationship. i don't know what the circumstances are here, but of course they're going to correctly identify him as his "half-brother".

In a lot of other cultures (including lower income white) it is common to have siblings of different parents and refer to them as "brother".

I am sure that they said half-brother to be technical.
