I guess you took a sample size of just one of my posts and responded to it here. I've said in earlier pages that I got the feeling Keatts was now the front runner anyway and Pack Pride articles were gearing us up to accept that fact. I've also made game threads for other VCU games this season and watched several of their games.

I also said nothing about who was the better hire, just who from reading and hearing shit from all over the place that I get the feeling is in the lead. I think we could have both but may intentionally take Keatts.

They're pretty much neck and neck. Wade has better Kenpom numbers and plays in a better league. He's firey, recruits well, and grinds. However, he also inherited a pretty good program that has been among the top of that league for a while. The big question is if he was a major driving force behind Shaka's success and it's kind of been him winning all along. That's a big question. They've also strugged to win when it counts (like vs. Dayton, their conference final, and the NCAAT). With Keatts you have a guy that came in and took a dumpster fire and turned it into a conference champion in year one. That's impressive. Then he repeats that in successive years and gets the tournament wins too. His stats aren't as good on paper, and the CAA isn't as good as the A10 but he's won a lot with a little. The questions for him are can he translate the success to a high level and are the defensive stats a product of inferior talent, or his coaching.

I've said all along that I hope Archie comes but I really doubt it. Getting blown out tonight might help us out and change things up. After that, I was more in the Wade camp but I really like what I've seen and read about Keatts recently so I think they're both fine hires.

i don't think that news (that it's Wade/Keatts most likely) is too surprising. Archie always seemed like a bit of a longshot. only thing that bothers me is the Sean Miller/UNC stuff. that's kinda bullshit. like, there could be one hundred different reasons Archie doesn't wanna come here or many reasons that Sean would advise him against the job (since Sean actually coached here)...but wanting your brother to not take a job because you *might* be a candidate for a rival job at some point in the future is pretty silly IMO.

it's easy to see why two brothers wouldn't want to coach against each other in a heated rivalry twice a year

i completely understand that. what is silly about it is, if Archie really wants this job (he may not want this job at all, idk) his brother asking him to not take this job because in maybe 5 years Sean might be a candidate at our rival is kinda silly. again, Archie may have zero interest in this job. and that's fine if that's the case. but if he really wants it, his brother is asking a lot by asking Archie to turn down this job that is open right now on the chance that Sean becomes UNC's coach at some point in the unknown future. granted, i realize that probably won't be the only factor for Archie making his decision. but that just seems pretty lame...first come, first serve and all that. if Archie wants it, he should take it...and then Sean can factor that into his decision if UNC comes calling in the future. not the other way around.

but i just feel like all that is so far in the future and so unknown it would have to be a very small, pretty insignificant factor in Archie's decision.
