This likely Ajax v Pool matchup is looking enticing. Two teams playing up tempo and very exciting. VVD may be the the x factor though. Gotta say the Ajax players may be overtaken by the occasion and with Pool coming off this just last year the mentality would be the biggest difference maker. Open game and hoping for 3 or 4 goals between the two teams. Will be exciting. If Pool win at least there will be free drinks had at LBP.

Agreed. I am really happy for Poch and the Spurs fans on here are great but I like CL because you get to face teams you don't get to face regularly. Also feel like Ajax was probably a better matchup for us, similar to Barca, where they are so open at the back.

I also feel like with the recent history, Spurs are due to pull one out against us. I think they've only won once in the last 13 or something like that? Liverpool are definitely favorites but it will be tough. Hope Salah, Firmino, Kane and everybody are all healthy so we all have full strength lineups.

It's gonna be nice to see the tired "trophy drought" criticism go away for at least one of Klopp/Poch. And you won't be able to convince me that the loser of the final is a failure after the journey both teams took to get there and the seasons they've had.

^At least a month gives most of the injured players time to recover on both sides.


One thing I really do want to give major respect to Ajax for was not really running down the clock. All they had to do in those last few mins of the game was keep passing it around in the back, take really long drawn out goal kicks, etc. That would have taken them to the final game, but they didn't.

I've only been following since 2011! But it makes no sense to call a Liverpool fan bandwagon and then turn around and rail on their trophy drought. I don't think you can technically "bandwagon" a team that isn't winning.
