NC State finished 11-21 overall and lost 19 of its final 23 games, ending the season on a five-game skid. Read that on WRAL, ouch. Smith struggled big time, Seabron wound up with good numbers but a bad shooting percentage like he has had lately. 3/8/2022 11:02:21 PM |

I'm sure there's a more appropriate thread somewhere for this. [Can a mod. move it please?] A Boeheim acting like a bitch. I never saw it coming! 3/9/2022 3:51:06 PM |

I know packinsider used to be a meme around here when they first started, but I think they are maybe the most balanced state media source at the moment. Good article and they bring up an issue that hasn't really been brought up here--that we are losing a scholarship for our NCAA crap.
It's been talked about as if we need to keep Seabron, Bates AND add in 1-2 impact transfers to not be dogshit next year. Dill™ reclassing would be a bonus. But we actually don't even have the scholarships for that unless someone leaves.
Right now we have 11 assuming Hellems (who apparently still has a year of eligibility left) and Allen are both gone, but we keep Bates and Seabron + 2 incoming freshmen. That's 13 and we lose one next season.
I guess that means at least someone else has to go before we even add in the possibility of Dill™ reclassing or getting anyone from the portal.
Seems like Keatts is gonna have to have some tough conversations with Hayes/Gibson if he wants to overhaul the roster the way he needs to in order to be competitive next year. 3/9/2022 3:52:41 PM |

LMAO of course you read PI!!!!1!1!1!
Also it's not really an issue. Someone will 100% leave. If only 1 guy leaves, Dillingham doesn't reclassify and we're at the magic number of 12. If multiple guys leave, we just bring in as many transfers as needed to replace those lost.
If Bates comes back we're fine at the 5 position. If not, we go into the transfer market to replace him. No reason to bring in a transfer big if he's in the fold because whoever comes in that instance will be even worse than what we have now. If Smith/Seabron go pro, you get Dillingham to reclassify . The only way we're seeing major roster changes is the IMO unlikely event that a bunch of guys leave.] 3/9/2022 4:45:23 PM |

We’re at 12 this year. The self imposed scholarship ban started this year. So we lose Hellems and Allen and we’re at 10. We add the 2 incoming freshmen and we’re back to 12. And it’s a pretty safe assumption somebody leaves (Hayes or Gibson if we’re optimistic, Seabron or Bates if we’re pessimistic). So even if Dillingham reclassified, which seems like a long shot, we would make it work.
I think the idea of adding a couple transfers is contingent on some dudes leaving. Which seems to be the norm now.3/9/2022 5:53:56 PM |
