I'm only up because I have to wake up my roommate. He has a bizarre condition in which no amount of alarm clocks can wake him up in time for work. As in, his three alarms just woke me up from the other side of the house.

It's a pretty dangerous job, and he has to offer increasingly large sums of money to people to perform it. Loud noises don't work, so you usually have to push/hit/kick him. And he tends to lash out violently before he actually wakes up, even if the previous night he gave permission to go so far as to use the taser on him. Hasn't gotten that far yet.

Although, if he keeps setting his alarm to play G 105 every morning, I may smother him to death just to end the matter.

The good news is that there's occasionally money in it, if he has a meeting or something. He'll throw around cash or booze to whoever gets him up in time.

The bad news is that he will take a swing at you while completely unconscious.

Buddy of mine once tried to wake him up by standing in the room and slamming two empty kegs together. Didn't work.

Cold water seems to work best, but most mornings I try to avoid resorting to that. They key is to fill a ziploc bag with ice water and cut off one corner. You can squeeze a stream out with a decent range, so he doesn't hit you in a thrashing rage.

i've become more adjusted to waking up in the mornings. There is one thing that still makes me hate life every morning. I like sleeping in a colder room with a fan. So each morning when my alarm goes off there is that inner struggle to climb from beneath my sanctuary of warmth and make the trip across the frozen tundra into the bathroom.

I'm the same way lol. The house is like 60 at night and I sleep under a massive ass down comforter.. I really need to program the thermostat to warm the place up before I wake up but never have gotten around to it.

Since the outage (plant shuts down for refuel/maint) is just around the corner we have to work 5 - 8's. Normally I would be off tomorrow. It is pretty nice leaving at 4 every day though.
