I don't think he would have called you down to the river then raised you with something there that you could have beat. But these are low-limits, so who knows.

^^ I'm never folding for $4.50 there, but yeah you're beat a lot

Is that to me? I've stopped posting random coolers/badbeats in this thread, I don't need a poker blog. I mostly just post hands where the villain did something exceptionally retarded - for a laugh.

^^^Had him on a little 2 pair or 8-9, figured about 2.5:1 to call was laying me right. Watched the same guy have to reload 3 times in about 25 minutes after this ($25 a pop), then followed him to a $1/$2 table and watched him drop $125 in 4 hands.

You may get restless. It helps you concentrate by phasing out "distractions" especially if you daydream, have a.d.d., scatterbrained, or if your mind just wanders . Personally, I think a good night's sleep is better than anything coffee or adderall can do unless you have a.d.d. Don't take more than 1 every 10-12 hours.

Ok guys sorry to barge in here with no stories but I don't think this is worth of another thread..

I've got a lot of extra time on my hands lately and would like to learn to play poker. Any suggestion of sites to learn the basics then places I can play for free online just to blow some time and learn the basics??

All my friends play and always have poker night and I've never learned to play.

Obviously I could just google it (and have) but any particular tips of sites to learn from you guys/girls have would be appreciated

Thanks!

I learned how to play by playing in person. It's worth it to drop some cash playing low limits to learn how to play the game.

play money games vs. real money games have no comparison, no matter what the stakes are. like dave said, it's probably worth it just to drop some cash and get your ass beat for a little while...

hmm that actually sounds like a good idea. i guess it's just not realistic when you're not playing with real money bc you just don't care and will do stupid shit yo wouldn't normally do and so will your opponents

so, i'm gonna dick around learning the basic process on some online things then pay to have my ass kicked i suppose

btw it was so fucking obvious when this dude had cards, and regardless, there wasn't a hand I couldn't push him off of that he ended up drawing out on. It's frustrating when you can't catch anything decent against people like this. This hand I might should have gone all-in, but he would've called it; I have no doubts about it...

2+2 is good. I have a few of them and highly recommend them. If you can make it to the higher stake play money games, those are a little more serious than $1 or $2 s&g's.

This really sucks, but it's the best I could do. This is the craziest call I've seen in a while. I'm at the final table of the 6k on bodog and alcramo has been super-aggressive...there were no flush draws

Please note: You can only view your own down cards. Other players will only see your cards if they were played through to showdown.

I'm coming back to the states tomorrow, so i'd be down anytime after Tuesday... i'm pretty sure my local place would be glad to host if they got a small piece.

btw i was told that the blind structures for these live sngs i'm going to try to play make the games more or less a crapshoot on winners...I was wondering if anybody had any advice for me that's played in their fair share of sngs at casinos and so forth...

I'm thinking I'll just have to play pretty loose and hope to hit a lot of boards, know when to back out, and try not to show tells and have people talk me out of making decisions? I dunno, this could be interesting...

Yeah, you definitely can't play too tight in those things.

Not a bad second hand.

You want to play tight in s&g's to begin with no matter the structure. If the chip stacks start off at 1,500 play premium hands until the blinds get above 25/50 or even until 50/100...then you can loosen up a little bit and try to steal the blinds. Your chips are worth more the higher the blinds and the deeper into the s&g you go. With every player thats taken out, you gain equity. Be very tight around the bubble if you are the one doing the calling but don't be afraid to make a raise with anything decent if you're the first to act. If your "M" dips below 5 before the bubble don't be afraid to push with just an above average hand. These are just general guidelines and can vary depending on the chip stacks of the other players on your table.

I don't care what you fuckers think. I still love JJ and I certainly don't mind losing a coinflip although I have to question the EV of a 3 bet all in with AQ.
