i really like the 6 handed ones. it forces people to play a lot of hands and a lot of times they play poorly because of that

a la' my ACY thread. Most of the poker literature I have deals strictly with online and/or MTT play. Any suggestions? Wasn't there an end all be all Limit book a while back? Which brings me to the next question. I never play Limit online, but starting out live should I play the lowest structured table or just buy in for the max on NL and hope I can grind out some hands without looking like a fucktard?

Nice. What amount do you stay at when you are shortstacking?

I leave on my BB at $70+

The most I've ever gotten on the table doing this is $340. Tripled up a $57 stack on the SB then doubled through again before my sit out hit.

Haha. Do you always play until bust or double?

If I bust I rebuy, I've definately had to rebuy 6 or 7 times at a given table lol

i'm a big fan of shortstacking b/c the big stacks usually think you have a small bankroll or are playing over your head so they are alot looser ... it's a easy way to double up pretty quick

It's definately not a good way to make friends, but as it turns out - I don't care.

^^ Yes, full stacking regs have no fucking clue what to do against short stackers. I make just as much off them as the fish, maybe more.

^^ It is a difficult adjustment...particularly until you have a decent database on a shortstacker...

How many bb/100 are you running while buying in short vs. bb/100 when playing table max stack?

85k hands short stacking at 1.8 bb/100 at the moment.. that includes a 30k hand break even stretch from june and a two week period in may where I ran like a god(~5 bb/100). I don't think I can accurately gauge my true winrate yet.

My full stacking rate was ~2.4 over 200k+ hands last year. The slight drop off is okay with my since I'm able to play more tables and more hours/week and I'm not tilting/hating poker as much as I did full stacking.
