Hey guys I just thought I would give you a heads up, my roommate works at Toys R Us, they got their Wii's in tonight. They have 60 of them ready to go on Sunday (one of which is mine through preorder) and a WHOLE BUNCH of copies of Twilight Princess. They only got like 8 PS3's though.

Not sure but from the sound of it, not too many. He said that they were expecting a lot to be available on Sunday. This is Toys R Us at Crossroads btw.

Don't worry. Nintendo is expecting something like 4 million available by Christmas.

if i preorder a wii at toys r us at cary... does that mean i can just waltz up there on sunday and get mine, guaranteed? If so, I'm taking a trip up there today!

i'm surprised all their preorders have not been filled up!

BTW, nintendo was GENIUS for including zelda as a launch title.
Any other time, I would never care about getting the system right at launch...but I just gotta have my zelda. I know I'm not the only person like this, so kudos to Nintendo for a good marketing strategy.

uhh... pretty sure they have been for weeks

they take less preorders than the number of units they actually get

^Not actually. Here is what happened with the preorders (at least at the Cary location). Initially they were only getting like 15 units in so corporate wasn't allowing employees to get pre-orders and those ones went really quickly. After a few weeks they found out they were getting a lot more than expected, so I just gave my roommate the $50 down and he picked me up a pre-order while he was at work one day. He came in last night and said that they had tons, so I think you might be able to still get a pre-order, but I would recommend calling ahead and finding out.

for a couple of seconds I was thinking of getting the wii with the GCN zelda game and using the regular controller with it.

then I realized that I wanted to be running around my living room swinging the master sword and thought better of it

I'm still looking forward to getting some gamecube games though.. i'll probably get the zelda collection first, then start looking into other stuff

Finding games won't be a problem.

At all.

You'll be able to walk into any store and buy any game you want.

Maybe not the "Game stores" but wal-mart, targets, Circuit City.

Games aren't the issue.

Gamestop is selling games that don't have a street date, which basically means everything but Zelda and Excite Truck. I went to the one off Kildaire Farm Rd in Cary.

Even though I was expecting these kind of reviews all along, it makes me feel justified in picking up a console this weekend.

They did midnight releases of ps3s, so I don't know why they wouldn't do the same for wii. I know that's my plan.

it probably varies with store size just like the Targets. if you call and ask them they'll tell you. the one here in Rolesville is getting 20.

if you do an advanced search on the website, one of the options is "open 24/7"

the cary one is not open all night, the one on glenwood is.

this is insane...all that PS3 on CNN "going for $15k" (idiots don't mention it's probably a fake bidder) has people loony over the should-be-everywhere Wii

I'm in freaking west virginia, of all unpopulated places in the world, and my 2 local Wal-marts have people that "have been waiting all night" for the Wii. I feel for you folks in actual cities.

It's gonna be hilarious if most stores have plenty left over after all the people in line get one

^wow, you've been holding on to that one for a while haven't you? Nice job calling me out before Wiis are even available

^ dude that's like saying I wonder if the release of Intel's Pentium 4 will lower Pentium 3 prices.

Of course it'll lower GC prices, so if you don't mind not having the latest & greatest, it'd be a great time to snag a used GameCube, Mario Kart: Double Dash, and Smash Bros.

hell, the local best buy got 26 PS3's.... they had 28 people in line at midnight... only 2 people walked away empty handed...
