5/23/2007 10:37:03 AM
and ruining your health
5/23/2007 10:37:26 AM
^^^ I try to go 5-6 times a week. Usually ends up being 4-5 though.I hate you blasphemor. [Edited on May 23, 2007 at 10:38 AM. Reason : *sigh*]
5/23/2007 10:38:10 AM
Im the healthiest I have ever been.
or maybe you just appear to be the healthiest you've ever beenwhat are you basing being healthy on...your weight?[Edited on May 23, 2007 at 10:39 AM. Reason : ]

I have the most energy I have ever had. I dont get sick all the time anymore. My muscles are more defined. I have more stamina. etc.
5/23/2007 10:44:40 AM
well goodyour legs still yellow, or did you fix your diet?
5/23/2007 10:45:36 AM
I am down a pant size and wearing pants today that I havent been able to wear in 2 years
5/23/2007 10:48:13 AM
it went away. i think it was an unrelated event. i was doing heavy labor over the weekend.
5/23/2007 10:48:19 AM
^^I guess it's a good thing you kept those pants then
5/23/2007 10:52:04 AM
5/23/2007 10:52:23 AM
Perhaps because mucle weighs more than fat, and womeo are worried more about their weight, as an objective number than things like body fat percentage
5/23/2007 11:10:31 AM
I dub thee, thy thread of stupidity
5/23/2007 12:43:53 PM
My workout regimen for cardio is 10 minutes on jacobs ladder then 20 on the Arc Trainer intensifying then slowing down every few minutes. Personaly trainer said that was real good, do I need to stay longer maybe?
5/23/2007 12:53:35 PM
I once lost twenty pounds in a week due to mono. It's completely doable the healthy and nonhealthy ways!
5/23/2007 1:19:10 PM
^^ jacobs ladder?
5/23/2007 1:21:37 PM
It's a rotating ladder that's set at a vicious incline. Really gets my heart going.
5/23/2007 1:25:24 PM
ah neat! Never seen one of those before.Though I wish PF would get one of those rotating rock climbing walls. That would be bad ass
5/23/2007 1:28:56 PM
^^^^ My roommate in Peru lost 32 pounds from a "mild" case of typhoid.Diseases are the way to go, people.
5/23/2007 1:30:29 PM
^ yeah, I've been down with strep throat and an ear infection for a week, and I've lost 6 pounds. I haven't been able to taste anything for 6 days, so that cuts out eating for the fun of it!
5/23/2007 1:32:13 PM
I need help staying motivated, to stick to my diet. I've been slipping and I'm just getting pissed at myself. I don't want to feel like this is the end but I do.
5/23/2007 1:49:53 PM
Put in the little bit of effort now, even if it's hard, and it'll pay off in the end. Just look at your "I feel sexy thread" and see what a difference it already makes. When you reach your goal, you'll have really accomplished something big. Either way, you should be proud of where you've gotten now, you know you can do it!
5/23/2007 1:54:01 PM
That's what I need to do, instead I'm kicking myself for eating poorly.
5/23/2007 1:56:32 PM
the only cardio I do is 2, maybe 3 times a weekusually I just do Hill sprints, 15 mins, twice a daybodyfat is currently at 10% and I just started doing cardio again...it really isn't needed to maintain a low bf%...but it's good for your heart and allows you to eat a little extra
5/23/2007 2:01:16 PM
is there any way to measure body fat % without calipers or the submersion thing? My scale must be busted. There is no way I'm 23% fatass.
5/23/2007 2:02:33 PM
I'm down from a high of 197 in October to 179 right now. I walk ~4 miles a day with my dog (two miles in the morning, two miles in the evening), and I've been getting back into some weight lifting again. Now that I live with my fiance, we've been making dinner more often rather than meeting up and eating out. That's the biggest help. Other than that, it's just been little things. I eat a banana every morning. I have a part-time job in an office on-campus, and I bring my lunch every day. I put lettuce on my sandwich and bring an apple and All-Bran Garlic Herb crackers (FTW, by the way) instead of chocolate chip cookies. For dinner, no matter what we're making, which is usually pretty healthy anyway, we always make sure to have at least one veggie side with it. Little stuff makes all the difference.I'm not going to break any records for most weight lost in a short time or anything, but I feel better, I look better and I'm motivated to keep doing these things because I've seen results.
5/23/2007 2:03:19 PM
You can definitely feel the benefits exercise has for your body. I'm honestly in the best shape I've ever been in and will never cut exercise out of my life again. The dieting thing, I get offhand and eat bad foods socially. When it's just me, I eat fine. Damn peer pressure. I need to say "No" better and remember food is fuel, not a minute delight for my tastebuds.
5/23/2007 2:03:28 PM
I lost 30 lbs last spring in about 3 months and have kept it off.Follow this plan:fruit for breakfast ( I usually have 2 apples, or an apple and a bannana)salad or eggs for lunchSubway or something of the like for dinner....basically I have about 1200-1400 calories a day.Very rarely do I drink soda anymore. And I work out 3 times a week, monday, wed, friday with weights. And I play softball twice a week.
5/23/2007 2:03:42 PM
5/23/2007 2:05:54 PM
I love rowing, but the damn gym I'm at now (in Charlotte for summer) doesn't have any rowersso it's either treadmill, bike, or elliptical...cough cough fuck no cough, or just sprints of some kind which I prefer
5/23/2007 2:07:04 PM
are you at a Y or peak?
5/23/2007 2:07:58 PM
Peak
5/23/2007 2:08:54 PM
yea, I don't think any of them have them, except for maybe the one in matthews--that place is gynormous.
5/23/2007 2:10:13 PM
yeah at matthews festival...that's the one I go toI haven't ever actually REALLY looked too hard for a rower, but from a few glances every time I go it doesn't look like they have any
5/23/2007 2:12:37 PM
What's wrong w/ the elliptical?
5/23/2007 2:17:53 PM
I've started to train with a new coach. So, I'm pretty excited about it. This has nothing to do with losing weight, but the topic started going towards fitness.Anyways, I'm glad a lot of you are getting closer to your goals. [Edited on May 23, 2007 at 2:21 PM. Reason : ^ nothing.]
5/23/2007 2:20:23 PM
yeah, I mean I think the elliptical is better than a treadmill (better on your knees..less chance of shin splints)but for my goals it's stupid to do 30-60 minutes of elliptical work however many times a weekI can obtain adequate fat loss by doing HIIT (essentially sprinting) 2-3 times a week for less time
5/23/2007 2:22:27 PM
5/23/2007 2:28:17 PM
Yeah, I use the elliptical when I go to the gym. It's a good workout and I like the programs and built in heart rate monitor. I got totally burned out on it last fall though, so I mostly excercise outdoors now.
5/23/2007 3:05:33 PM
I almost grabbed some sugarfree chocolate cookies that are like 110 calories for 4 cookies, then I was like KAREN WTF R U DOIN BITCH and got fresh strawberries instead.Mmmmmmm, good choice.
5/23/2007 4:00:49 PM
lol. gg. temptation is everywhere
5/23/2007 4:06:14 PM
Still love this thread. A year ago, I lost about 25lbs but eventually gained it all back. Which makes me very sad. It actually pisses me off.Guys, where is the first place you start to lose weight? I ask because I seem to have lost weight in my hips/waist, but my stomach seems to be even larger. I didn't know if this was common. I am really looking for some results, that will help to keep me motivated. I know I am making progress. I have been eating roughly 1500 calories a day and exercising about 4 days a week.I am also finding that it seems to be all about dieting. Cardio helps, but a couple cookies will fuck up 40 minutes on the eliptocal. My other question. how long do you usually do on the eliptocal or a bike? I have been riding an exercise bike for about 20 minutes and then the eliptocal for about 20. Some days I feel like I am about to die. Other days I feel like I coult go for another hour. I would just like to know what a nice baseline to use would be.
5/23/2007 6:00:39 PM
are you lifting weights?
5/23/2007 6:18:21 PM
I have a broken wrist. I know I need to. Muscle burns cals faster and all that stuff.....I did last year when I tried this and it made a big difference.
5/23/2007 6:25:56 PM
usually the last place you gained fat is the first to go and the first place you gained it is the last...where you accumulate fat depends a lot on genetics[Edited on May 23, 2007 at 7:08 PM. Reason : ]

Wheat bread, turkey, romain lettuce, and mustard for dinner. Out of carrots to replace chips. No chips though.I've been good today so far.Went shopping and finally bought some shorts/capris even though in a few months they'll be too big. I'll keep the receipts.

5/23/2007 7:39:21 PM
The bar isn't worth it. I don't like beer. Shots get the job done quicker with fewer calories.I'm not impressed.
5/23/2007 7:40:37 PM
GHB gets it done with no calories and raises growth hormone levels to supraphysiological levels. too bad they don't serve it at bars.
5/23/2007 8:20:32 PM
just got back from water aerobics with the wonder old ladies. . lolnow time to have some kind of dinner/snack
