I hate getting these stupid e-mails about things that have nothing to do with my specific job, like last month's sales totals. You interrupted my tetris game for this?
My office receives complimentary tickets for different events sometimes and I get 8 e-mails in a row about each event and how many tickets are available. Most of these events are things I wouldn't go to even for free, and are often in a distant town.
I'm also tired of the e-mails updating us about my co-worker's new premature twins, documenting their progress in the ICU. All I care about is that they were born, I don't care that they gained 3 pounds and are bottle-feeding.
It's annoying when people whisper conversations in nearby cubicles. I know they're trying to be quiet, but it's just as annoying as talking loudly, plus it makes me wonder what they're discussing that they don't want others to hear. I get the feeling that there's a lot of secretive backdoor shit going on around here and it makes me paranoid. It doesn't help that people sometimes leave unexpectedly and all we get is an e-mail saying "so-and-so is no longer employed by this company." No explanations are ever given as to why people are fired or quit. One such e-mail said if she calls, don't discuss the status of any computer files, and redirect her call to the CEO or executive VP. 7/10/2008 1:45:37 PM |

me: did you not see it on the code summary sheet?
person 1: oh, is it filled out?
me: ...yes...
okay so maybe that's not as dramatic sounding as it actually was, but she's got the damn file open! if you're looking for something on the code summary sheet, MAYBE YOU SHOULD LOOK ON THE FUCKING CODE SUMMARY SHEET!!!!!

The CEO has a strong odor that you can smell 15 feet away, and it lingers after he's left the area. It's like some kind of cologne combined with his own natural old people smell (he's in his 70s). It's not a pleasant smell, either, kind of medicine-y. 7/11/2008 11:40:24 AM |

ok, seriously
what is the point of having a contacts in outlook and a project database if people are just going to ask around to everybody else to find Bob Somebody's email address or the project number for Dr. Blah's office???????
nobody thinks to look in these places first. instead they call around, walk around, yell around hoping someone else can pull it out of their ass.

^OH MY GOD...that drives me nuts!!!
I update the outlook contacts list for the office for that reason. People THAT WORK HERE will call the front line and ask me to transfer them to so and so when they have their direct line staring right at them in outlook.
Lazy bitch will call me and be like "What's so and so's extension?" And I'll be like "Ya know it's on your contacts list." and s he's like "Oh I don't have an updated copy on my desk" WTF? 7/11/2008 11:53:35 AM |

our bookkeeper
she MUST say hi/good morning/something to you every single time she sees you. i purposefully avoid eye contact 99% of the time. when i came back from lunch just now, i walked in and looked at my cell phone like i was reading an important email or something, she yells out HEY THERE!!!!OMG!!!!11!!!one
we've already been over the whole hey how are you good morning how was your weekend thing today. i walk the long way around so i don't have to go by her desk b/c she says hey every time.
and if you're not super duper enthusiastic like she is when you respond, she is personally offended and believes that you hate her and are really angry. she does this with everybody.
it's not about you. maybe i'm sleepy. maybe he had a rough night last night. maybe she's sick and doesn't feel like talking. DAMN IT LEAVE US ALONE 7/14/2008 1:20:39 PM |

I like when people come to ask you a question, but they must tell you a 5 minute story before getting to the question.
This one lady apparently fell down a flight of stairs while on vacation 2 weeks ago and totally bruised her back and has had to stand up a lot to do tasks and blah blah blah. All she wanted to ask me was if I knew if we had any chair cushions in the office. It could have been quick and painless, but that never happens. 7/14/2008 1:29:25 PM |

I call people on a regular basis (40-50 a day) and sometimes I will get a person that rambles on about their life for like 45 minutes. A lot of times I can't even interject because they are talking and not breathing. I should just hang up after that long since it is cutting into my time but I would feel horrible about that, not to mention clients are the first priority and it would look shitty on me. 7/14/2008 1:33:03 PM |

People who say 'no' only because they can.
Even if what's presented isn't a request directed at them, won't impact them in any way, causes no loss or inconvenience, and the 'no' they've issued isn't even theirs to give in the first place, but often stands because they are not insignificant players.

smelly coworkers, especially when they come over to my cubical and insist on taking up a large amount of space while speaking.
also, I found out who was leaving time on the microwave. its a smelly coworker.
also, the lead has bad breath constantly; but he's a pretty cool dude, very laid back; and I don't talk to him much so its ok.
