A national championship requires 3+ NBA players (1st or 2nd rounds) on the roster in the vast majority of cases

^^thats near impossible. We're out of schollys RIGHT NOW.....taking one more would have us expecting someone to leave early. Taking two more would mean we expect more than one person to leave early

there is a strong possibility that we will have at least one, maybe two more open up after this season

Wall is more than likely out of the equation now

obviously Favors and Kelly are our main targets right now, and I believe Tristian Spurlock and Matt Wilson(huge project) are backups

Sid & Co. are out in full force. We've recently offered two 2011 stars.

"Elite prospect LaQuinton Ross is set to team up with the No. 1 2009 prospect John Wall at Raleigh (N.C.) Word of God Christian Academy next year. According to MBA Hoops coach Omhar Carter, Ross has offers from and interest in Memphis, Baylor, North Carolina State, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Florida and Kentucky.

Another top 2011 prospect Rodney Hood is being recruited by Duke, North Carolina State (offer), Baylor (offer), Ole Miss and Clemson (offer)."

a rising sophomore 2 guard that is already 6-7/6-8

Everyone seemed to be getting worrisome about how our 09 recruiting was going just a few days ago and now having just looked at the recruiting classes around the ACC, I'm glad to proclaim that we currently have the second best 2009 class in the ACC after UNC. If we got Favors I don't know if our class would be better, but it'd certainly be up there with the Heels' class.

technically none, but there is speculation that we may have some players leaving early so Sid & Co. are not done recruiting for the 2009 class yet. If we get someone like Favors and no one else leaves, I would think they would put somebody on academic scholarship to make room for him.

so i guess his top 2 are Baylor and OK state, just in ABC order

well coach drew has done an amazing job of turning a program that had been issued the death penalty into a NCAA team.

still not a reason to go to Baylor but i can see a kid wanting to go there to be "the man"

Coach Drew has been doing really big things since he arrived in Waco. There were some really good

articles about it right around tourney time earlier this year

"Richard Howell, F (6-8, 220)
Senior, Marietta, Ga./ Wheeler
Howell had a terrific performance against fast-rising senior 6-9 Ryan Kelly. He used his strength, solid post footwork and 3-point shooting touch to score at will throughout most of the contest against the longer Kelly. He has a soft shooting touch out to the stripe and knows how to use his impressive frame and hang time to convert against taller opponents. Howell is one of the most improved players from a year ago in the Class of 2009. "

this blurb really excited me since Kelly is getting so much hype

im sorry is this video is a repost

if by heavy you mean putting back everything that came off the board and being able to drill it from outside while keeping some fast feet on the drive

then sure

he'll be a banger thats for sure

Some of the very same things that have been said in this thread have been discussed three or four years ago though.

About Howell....

Quote :
"Damn that's a pretty impressive list. Florida, MSU, Texas, Tennessee, UK, and Memphis... nice to see them whiffing on OUR recruits for a change"

Was about the same thing said about Brandon Costner....

Quote :
"Damn, the schools on his list were Florida, Georgia Tech, North Carolina, Virginia, Seton Hall, Indiana, Michigan, UCLA, Connecticut and Kansas. NICE!!!"

^ I'm still not convinced we've seen the last days of Costner dominating (although he really only ever dominated in the ACC tourney 2 years ago). I wouldn't count him out yet. There's really nowhere to go but up for him considering his performance last year.

^^ I agree, I think Costner can certainly still be a force if he puts in the effort and has a system that he can work in. I'd bet we see a whole lot more out of him this year than we did last year.

Howell dominated Ryan Kelly in Vegas from the replay videos on that wazoosports homepage. WWR played D-one. Great game for the 20 or so minutes I watched. I think Howell probably had 15 before I cut it off. I had seen enough. 3 3's, rebounds, defense, great passing, ran the floor, basically was awesome. Kid can ball. I mean kelly got his, but didnt look nearly as sharp on either end as Howell that game.
