Here's what the setup at Ford Field looks like. The floor is raised up 3 feet off the ground. A lot of the players have already said that they will have to be wise as to which loose balls they should go after, so that they don't go flying off the edge. The benches are on the ground below the court, so that specators can see.

So far if you're a 1 or 3 seed, it appears you can get away with fouling as long as you hit them on the forearm and you don't have to dribble the ball in order to move it down the court. 3/28/2008 7:34:39 AM |

I'd root Carolina over them as well. At least Carolina has looked like a championship team and didn't rely on some bullshit no-calls to even get a #1 seed. Then they didn't have to rely on another bullshit no-call to make the sweet sixteen.
UCLA does not deserve the championship this year.3/28/2008 8:14:00 AM |

I just don't want UNC to win for the simple reason of the press coverage that will flood my every move into the world of electronics. TV, Radio, stupid fucking chain emails about how great ROy is.
Hopefully there will be a Marshall incident for UNC which is pretty much the only way they aren't going to win a title it seems, but then the movies and the endless coverage about the loss of such talent, etc. I don't which would be worse, everyone dying or UNC winning.

I hate UNC as much as anyone, but sometimes you have to admit that they are the best team. If UCLA wins the championship, it would be bullshit.
Except UCLA, I would root for anyone but carolina. 3/28/2008 9:40:10 AM |

^^^ I am a huge State fan considering it's my alma mater... but I live, work and go to grad school in California and EVERYONE seems to be a UCLA fan this time of year. It's annoying. More annoying than UNC fans ever were to me in NC... just my opinion. 3/28/2008 9:41:32 AM |

i have no problem admitting that UNC looks like the best team in the country right now.. but Duke looked pretty good in 99 at this point (Duke 99, Florida A&M 58; Duke 97, Tulsa 56; Duke 78, SW Missouri St. 61; Duke 85, Temple 64), and we all know what happened to them (lost to a UConn team with Ricky Moore, Rip Hamilton, and the fat kid from Hook playing point guard)
Louisville looks pretty good and i think they have a good chance. Padgett should give Hansbrough some problems..but if UNC beats them, Kansas (if they don't choke) should be able to beat them too. I think UNC would kill UCLA right now

anybody think the fact that Duke and UNC tend to get more calls than other schools during ACC conference play ends up hurting them since they don't get all those bullshit calls in the NCAA tourney? What is the regular season preparing them for? 3/28/2008 10:25:01 AM |

No, it doesn't seem to be hurting carolina, and duke just didn't play well down the stretch 3/28/2008 3:11:13 PM |
TreeTwista10 minisoldr 148450 Posts user info edit post |
its not hurting carolina yet but they also havent played anybody in the first 3 rounds
duke...well duke has bigger problems
still though...i think its worth mentioning...if the ACC refs called it fairly all year long it would be a lot better preparation for the NCAA tourney where UNC and Duke dont actually get all the close calls 3/28/2008 3:16:54 PM |
jocristian All American 7527 Posts user info edit post |
Coach K has the all-time highest winning percentage in the tournament. I dont think the difference in referreeing is a factor. 3/28/2008 3:54:46 PM |

i think it's hurt both teams at times in the past... especially UNC/George Mason. Hansbrough wasn't getting any calls, and they lost. hope that happens against Louisville.. dude is gonna come back next year no matter what, I would love it if he never wins a title

^^i blame his early exists the past 2 years on lack of talent more than anything else
i dunno i just think both of those schools get the calls during the regular season but dont get them in the post season...maybe it wont be a factor this year, cause UNC HAS looked pretty damn good despite that one no-call when Lawson drew contact last night...also WSU was missing tons of layups...but i'm just throwing the ref thing out there] 3/28/2008 4:01:09 PM |

Most people knew Curry was special after last season, but Richards is awesome at the point, Lovedale and Sander are solid big men, Paulhus-Gosselin is a relentless defender. What surprised people the most, I think, is that Davidson is a complete high-major team that just happened to be in the SC
