well for one i never go to pint night. I may have been to one Monday all year. Also, I always order off the just landed board so most of what i drink is rotators and seasonals that are here and gone pretty quick. So when i'm close to the end i'll have the mainstays to fall back on.

secondly, i have my beer knurd list bookmarked on my phone so if i ever need to know if i've had a beer I can quickly pull the list up and check a lot faster than going to the kiosk.

will do... I see no problem going there for dinner and a few beer (I don't think we want to make it a late night though, especially since I'm contemplating heading out and playing DG in a possible tournament way early tomorrow morning)

Living large I see!

Too rich for me. At the frequency I go there, I can't afford to drop $20 every time.

haha that is how I was- first plate took me 3.5 months, second 2 years, and the 3rd one took about 3.5

I had 2 bush lite 500's during the 3rd one though, so that took away some time and funds

The problem with NYC is that saucer thrives in markets where there isn't a big beer market yet - up there y'all have so many good beer bars that they would be just like an applebees opening up there.

funny that you used applebee's as an example. there is one in manhattan somewhere near midtown that is apparently all the rage. people will line up on the street to get in.

I will never understand this part of the country....

while I used to love going to the applebees in stondcrest for pregaming, when a roach walked out of a salad at the one on hillsborough, that was the end of it for me

Yeah, its the one in Times Square, and it's populated by tourists. Same reason goes for why there's a line out the door at the TS Red Lobster. It's nothing to understand about that part of the country b/c the people you're talking about are tourists.

I'd disagree. From my experiences the pub in NYC most comparable to the FS is The Gingerman on 36th Street. And I prefer the Saucer's food over what that place had. The bar that flat out had the biggest beer selection in Manhattan (as far as I know) is The Peculiar Pub on Bleeker Street. And I'm pretty sure they don't serve food at all.

the charlotte saucer was a circus last night for the xmas glass too. Wednesday is our night, and from what we've learned over the past year or so is getting there about 7:30 allows for the older regulars to have had their beer and gotten their glasses and they are usually out by 7:45-8ish. Usually we can swoop in and grab a table from someone closing out, but we got there at 7 last night and the crowd was huge and no one was leaving. Thankfully it was just two of us and we were able to snake a couple bar spots after about 15-20 minutes.

It's weird, I'm not really a huge fan of the special saucer glasses but those are always the ones that bring the crowds. I'd much rather have a brewery glass from a brewery i like over a FS glass.

I got there at 5 and there were no tables in the main room empty. They were shooting a Lonerider Beer commercial there as well.

well I know some people got called out of work, and others just opted not to go. But most people did end up going into work. I have no problem driving around (hence me asking if people want to go).

I'm not at the office today, but I am working from home. Brett, why don't you just chill out and go to the Saucer later like a normal person. Like 6-630

That's when I'll be out there for the tapping of a cask of Cold Mountain.

because I need lunch, have no interest in the crowd, and wouldn't get the cask beer anyway

ps- weren't you the one talking about how you had a day off coming up and wanted to do some day drinking? HOLD YOUR HORSES LIKE A NORMAL PERSON, BUSTER!!
