DirecTV added it a few days ago. Channel 106.

I can't see it since I don't have a 3D-capable HDTV, but it's definitely there.

a couple of facts I've come across in my pre-WC reading today

After beating England 1-0 in 1950, USA have kept just one clean sheet in their 19 World Cup matches since.

and

Eight out of England's past 10 games have produced more than 2.5 goals, as have nine out of 10 played by the USA.

Beckham says England should blitzkrieg our goal early because the U.S. players are wusses in the opening minutes.

Quote :
"The Los Angeles Galaxy midfielder’s insistence on establishing early command could be related to his memories of the exhibition game between the two countries at London’s Wembley Stadium two years ago.

Before that friendly, Beckham was stunned to see several American players physically shaking in the tunnel due to nerves at playing in the venue widely regarded as the home of soccer."

They were shaking because they worried Beckham would kick them when the referee was looking.

How true is this? I bet it's nowhere close to accurate.

The USA probably DID bring 40,000 fans but we are such a melting pot and ability to have a ton of people have the financial flexibility to travel to South Africa surely is an advantage over other countries. But how many of those 40,000 are rooting for their nationality (Italian, German, etc, etc)? Probably a sizable chunk.

Would you expect anything less from FIFA? They're the worst governing body in the history of sport.

Unless wherever you got that from says explicitly in the next sentence that they're USA fans, I don't see what's inaccurate about it.

England -1? Yeah right, I'd need at least 1.5 to take US and A

I've always liked the World Cup since the Brazil-US game in '94 but I really got captivated by it in '98 because of one of the best sports video games ever and just an all around great tournament.

This year thanks to DVR I'm going to attempt to watch every minute of the entire World Cup.

Obviously, I'm 100% in the USA camp but when they aren't playing I'lll be cheering for the Spains, Dutches, Africans (especially the the Nigerias), and I have secret man love for the Brazils who I cheer for as my #2 stunner.

Other than Ireland and Spain I always root against anyone from Europe staunchly unless it's Netherlands who I like. England is okay too.

Do we still have that guy Kobi Jones in midfield? I sure hope not cause man that guy sucked so bad I wanted to kick my own teeth in.

Cobi Jones is not on the team this year.

Im obviously pulling for the US with the understanding they have no chance in winning it. But I feel like I need an emotional investment. I've always liked watching Argentina and Brazil play so I'll be checking out their games.

1st off, FUCK MEXICO.

Here's my prediction for the USA/England game saturday. I shared this with kiljadn and JTMONEYNCSU last night....

England 2, USA 1.
Dempsey scores for USA
Crouch scores for England
Bornstein late own goal wins it for England

We are going to need Donovan to step up and have a big WC. If not it'll be an early exit. Even a loss to England we should still get out of group play. If not I'll be a HUGE disappointment.

What the fuck is a Dutches?

I'm a Rangers fan and would normally back Scotland or Northern Ireland as a good Protestant, but they've fallen off so I guess it's the country with the next closest ties for me this time: Holland, then Japan, then Ghana.

After the US that is.

^ The netherlands??? Think the color of Hi-C black people order at Mcdonalds?

Yeah so I dont like Germany and fucking Italy. Though I drive a german so i like their "engineering" just not their klinsmann/bieroff bullshit goals that Taffarel can't fucking stop in world cup 98.

Roberto Carlos, best player ever?

I just hope amazing players like Chilavert present themselves in this world cup. If I have to watch another snorefest like 2002 I'll punch myself.
