i'm looking forward to our football season. wherever RW ends up, great for him. but it's time to let him go if it makes you feel miserable.

i hope RW gets some good playing time and then gets drafted. i want him to do well. if he becomes a Badger, it will be cool to see him still in red and white!

for the Wolfpack Nation however, its Glennon time!

Yeah I don't know that there was an easy way out of this for all the parties involved.

"Going to say the same things that have been said.

TOB has a football team to run. He needs a dedicated quarterback to lead the team. RW (who I think is awesome) has his own life to think about. If he loves playing baseball, it leaves little room for football (as indicated by him missing all of spring practice last year...which he didn't need anyway). But by letting him do that this year AGAIN would have spoken loads to the people who want the football team to succeed: Let's just wait for RW to make a decision and base our program on him and not move forward. That puts Mike Glennon in a bad spot, feeling like he is again living in RW's shadow and waiting for him to make a decision.

Why would anyone want to play at a school with that sort of fickleness?

They wouldn't. They would transfer.

And RW was in the position, so he asked TOB to let him go, "in case" he wanted to play football for a team who was okay with him coming in and playing for a year.

Any teams need a one-term quarterback?"

if he ever does make it in the NFL, I look forward to claiming him as one of our own much more than if Damien Wilkins does something decent in the NBA

Damien didn't graduate from State. RW did. Of course we claim him. And of course. Fuck Damien Wilkins and his fucking uncle and dad.

unless Glennon puts together a year like this

Quote :
""Russell Wilson finished his junior campaign on the gridiron with some of the best numbers in school history. He tied former quarterback Philip Rivers for the single-season record in touchdown responsibility with 37, while his 3,563 passing yards and 308 completions rank as the second-highest marks in school history. His 527 pass attempts for the season set a new school record, while his 3,998 yards of total offense is the second-highest ever for an NC State player.""

it def WAS NOT the right move for us

he wanted a chance to compete for the starting position, not take the whole spring off and just be named the starter. He welcomed the competition...

I think Russell was great and all but using his yardage, # of completions, and # of attempts as a basis for how good he is just tells me that he threw the ball a lot.

I think in 5, 10, 20 years, Russell Wilson the Legend will be a lot more powerful than Russell Wilson the Player ever was.

You guys want to put him a notch below Rivers, when in reality he's more like a notch above Barnette.

We're losing our top 2 WR's from last year -- top 3 if you count Davis -- meaning Glennon has absolutely no proven WR's to work with. Not saying they can't become good receivers, just that no one really knows. If the spring game is any indication ... ehhh ... not good

Not diminishing anything RW accomplished -- he did some downright amazing things while he was here. Just saying Glennon has needs to be given a chance to mesh with the wideouts. Good thing we've got Bryan and Mustafa back this year

receivers this, throwing that, etc etc... i'm not worried about any of that.

we will be a run first offense by virtue of our continuously improving O-line. the passing game will take care of itself if we manage 3.5 yards per carry.

that's not to take anything away from Glennon. he will be a good QB. he's in the hands of the same guys that found and developed Matt Ryan.

Only state QB to win three straight against Carolina. He just wins, I wish we still had him but can understand the reasoning.

How old are you? Erik Kramer, Shane Montgomery, Terry Harvey were all good QBs in the last 20 years and on Barnette's level or better.

Wilson is to Hodge as Barnette is to Gainey.

You can't come up with a more apt statement.
